Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2012
Best zucchini bread I've had. Ever. I did replace the oil with applesauce, but that was the only change I made. So yummy and moist.

Decorator Frosting I

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2011
I give this only for stars because it calls for shortening. I don't eat or use hydrogenated oils so I replaced it with butter. I believe this got rid of the blandness others wrote about. It was good with vanilla and with almond flavoring. As it is called "decorator frosting" that is what I made it for. Less milk and it is nice and stiff. The amount it calls for made the perfect spreading consistancy. With butter the taste and consistancy were perfect. I will use this time and time again!

Apple Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
Great holiday bread. I used fresh cranberries(yum), replaced 1/3 of the flour with ww flour, replaced 1/2 the sugar with brown sugar and it couldn't have been better. It would make excellent muffins and worked well when doubled. I will be making this again.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

A bit sweet, yummy and slices well. I've been using it as a base to experiment from. Replacing the ww flour w/ other flours or grains I sprout then grind.

Ham-Stuffed Bread

Great recipe! Also a great base to which you can change the filling based on preference or what you have in the house. My fave is pastrami!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2010
Yummiest banana bread I've made so far. I followed the directions with a couple changes for personal preferance: replaced 1/2 cup flour w/ 1/2 C. whole wheat flour and reduced the the sugar to 3/4 cup. Will be my go to recipe from now on. :)

Spiced Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
Wonderful banana bread. I'm not usually a fan but made this for my family. I actually liked it! Not a whole lot of banana flavor and the spices were a great addition. I added cardamon as well and used 1/2 white sugar and 1/2 brown. Will make this again.

Made it as is. I loved it but my husband thought it was bland with too much lemon.

Kickin Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
The only changes I made were to use turkey sausage, I mixed the parm into the filling and topped with bread crumbs instead. I took them to a potluck and almost everyone asked for the recipe!! They were a hit!!!

Pumpkin Pie Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
I would have given this 3 stars but I think it has potential and I like the idea of how easy it is so I upped it to 4. I followed the recipe as is. The taste was great. I thought the consistancy was disappointing, though. I will try it again but will decrease the biscuit mix (possibly eliminate altogether). The texture was a bit like a thick pumpkin bread batter~not a pudding. Other reviewers were right in cutting the cooking time. Even on my slow cooker's lowest setting it was set and over 160* by the 3 hour mark.

Mushroom Slow Cooker Roast Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
Best roast I've ever had!! I replaced the onion soup mix with a medium onion finely diced(I did this because I try to avoid processed foods and powered mixes tend to have MSG and other preservatives/fillers). The beer with the mushroom and onion~YUM! The sauce made an excellent gravy cooked down with a little flour and milk. Will probably use this recipe many, many times in the future!

Moroccan-Style Stuffed Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
Loved this recipe! I did make a couple of changes to accomodate personal preference. I dislike celery and raisins. I replaced them with apple and cranberries. I also cut the cumin in 1/2, added a dash of cinnamon and a smidge of ginger. These changes turned it into the perfect autumn dish!! I think next time I might replace the garbanzo beans with grilled chicken.

Acorn Squash with Apple

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
My entire family & guests loved this recipe! I followed the oven variation since I prefer not to cook in the microwave. Turned out wonderfully! The directions to peel an acorn squash works very well.

A Number One Egg Bread

The most beautiful bread I've ever made. I read the reviews and divided it into two loaves. They were both HUGE, beautiful and delicious! It does only take about 25 minutes to cook though.

Best corn bread I've made so far. My whole family loved it! We loved how sweet and moist it was. I did replace the half and half with milk, though. This is my corn bread recipe from now on.
