Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
Really delicious! The whole batch went in two days, with only me and my bf eating them. For some reason I had to cook mine for a longer time t slightly higher heat to get a golden brown look. And while they were nice and wet, I found the batch a little eggy. For the future, I'll use only half the recommended amt of egg. Overall, absolutely delicious!

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
Wow, gotta say that this made for one amazing pecan pie! I kept my pecan halves intact for this recipe, and added a LOT more pecans than called for in the recipe (an extra cup to cup-an-a-half), and thought it still could have done with more pecans. It was also VERY buttery; I could taste the butter time and time again, though that might have been due to the fact that I didn't completely melt the butter (for future reference, do melt all the butter). Still, amazing pie; This thing didn't last more than a day on thanksgiving when there was a choice of three other pies to be had!

Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
Very tasty. I decided to cook the chicken with rosemary, parsley, salt, pepper, and garlic in the fat left over from the bacon. It added a lot of flavor to the chicken. Also, I'd suggest slowly adding mayo/dressing instead of using the exact measurements. I could tell from that start that the suggested amount was too much. Also, as a nice addition I added crasins and nuts to the salad for a little bit more sweet and crunchiness. Overall, really good!

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
I've tried another peanut noodle recipe on this website, and it simply doesn't compare to this one. This recipe is so simple and tasty! In future, I'd like to up the amount of peanut sauce for the spaghetti, since this was only just enough to cover the noodles. Terrific!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2010
This is some really delicious banana bread. I added 6 bananas, which was a bit more than what was called for, and it came out amazing! It was crunchy on the outside, yet moist and chewy on the inside. I added pecans for extra flavor. Perfect!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
Really, seriously amazing. I took a reviewer's suggestion to add creme of tartar for looks. I also didn't add the nuts (not a fan). They were really, truly excellent. Everything you epitomize in a cookie! Chewy on the inside, crunchy on the edges.

Key Lime Pie VII

Really good! I didn't have key limes, but it still turned out great. It hit that perfect blend of not too sweet, not too sour.

Chinese Scallion Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2014
Very tasty! I couldn't believe how well they came out the first time. My boyfriend had a hard time believing I made them myself. On my second go, I learned the hard way that you definitely have to let the dough sit- the longer the better. I'd also suggest getting the water as hot as possible. As for dipping sauce, I'd suggest Trader Joe's Soyaki sauce. It makes for the perfect accompaniment.

'Day Before Payday' Kielbasa and Corn Hash

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
So I tried following this recipe, but ran into a few hiccups. First of all, I think I didn't chop the potatoes up fine enough. Because of this, it took them a very long time to soften. I added everything as stated, but when I realized the recipe was completed and my potatoes were still hard, I started adding milk and covering the whole thing so they would soften. The result was absolutely delicious! My roommate was stealing bowls of it while I wasn't looking!

Steve's Chicken Korma

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
This dish was absolutely delicious! However, I did a LOT of improvisation to get the flavor and consistency that I wanted. I took other reviewers suggestions on using coconut milk, and doubled the helping. Actually, I doubled just about all the spices, as well as the yogurt. I probably tripled the chili, but I still didn't obtain the heat I wanted. On my next batch, I'm thinking of slowly mixing in some spicy green chiles to add that extra kick and give a little color. My only warning for this recipe is to be careful with adding extra cinnamon! It tastes great with spicy foods, but if you aren't careful it can dominate the dish. Southwestern cooking often utilizes this same trick, and I've ruined a dish before by adding too much cinnamon.

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2010
This was a hit at home! Because I didn't have cornstarch, I shook 1/4 cup flour, 1/2 tsp. pepper, 1/2 tsp salt and meat chunks together in a ziplock bag, and then browned it. I added an extra 2 tsp directly to the pot, as done with the cornstarch. It was great! I want to try this recipe again to decide whether the cornstarch or the flour is better.

I haven't made this, but I have one guess at what might be a little lacking: alcohol. If I make this, I'm definitely going to spike it with spiced rum and/or malibu.

Peanut Noodles

Very, very tasty. My boyfriend loves this dish! As a warning, the peanut butter can be overcooked, so try to have the sauce mixed into the noodles in five minutes or less. Wonderful recipe!
