Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2014
Simple and delicious! We're not big fans of BBQ sauce so we left it off. Pork was tender and juicy. Thanks, Cathy.

Venison Pot Roast and Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2013
I used venison tenderloin and followed the recipe except for substituting olive oil for the butter. The flavour was excellent; the meat was tender in 50 minutes and the gravy was perfect. This is definitely a keeper. Thanks, Ron!

Bada Bing Bada Banged Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
I didn't have new potatoes so just cubed some regular red potatoes and omitted the "smashing" part. They turned out nice and crispy and flavourful. It's a great blend of spices. I made up extra to keep in the fridge. It's good mixed with bread crumbs or for any recipe that calls for Parmesan cheese. Very handy and delicious. Thank you, CJ McD!

Crispy Juicy Oven-Fried Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
I had a small frying chicken but really wanted to try this recipe. Had to substitute panko bread crumbs for the stuffing mix. I added some Bada Bing Bada Banged Potato "spice mixture" (AR recipe) to the crumbs. Baked on a foil-lined cooking sheet. It's the first time I've used a buttermilk marinade and I'll now be trying it with other chicken recipes as well. The chicken was delicious ... very moist and tender. Thanks so much for sharing your recipe Judy.

Easy Homemade Pie Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2013
This is the first pie crust I've tried in 30 years. I've never had any luck with them so just gave up. Watched the video (great tip about putting cut up butter in freezer) and gave it a try. Using the food processor made it so easy and it turned out flaky and tender! I used it on a chicken pot pie and it was delicious. If I can do it, anyone can. I thank you Chef John and so does my husband!

Extra Easy Hummus

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2013
Note: This review is for the basic recipe with changes. Very good and super easy. Due to personal taste and other reviews, I doubled the garlic and halved the cumin, added 1 T. lemon juice and a sprinkle of paprika. Thanks Donalyn, I'll be making this often!

Don't Knock it Until You Try it Zucchini Chocolate Banana Nut Milkshake

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2013
What a treat! I substituted 2 T honey for the sugar and used 1% milk. Just used zucchini out of the fridge (not frozen - didn't want to wait). This was thick and delicious!! Next time I'll try peanut butter as I found the peanuts didn't chop up fine enough. Could be my problem though as I just added them to the food processor (not blender) with the other ingredients. Thanks so much for the recipe 5THSISTER!!

Zucchini Cheddar Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2013
Followed recipe except substituted some garlic for the onions (allergy). I used the "Homemade Biscuit Mix" from this site and scaled it down to 5 servings to fit this recipe. Shredding the zucchini in the food processor made quick work of it. I found that on medium heat, my pancakes were very brown on the outside but not quite cooked on the inside so I turned down the heat and cooked them longer. I might spread them out more next time to make them thinner and cook on medium heat. They were very tasty with quite a delicate flavour however, next time I'm going to add salt, pepper and a few spices and see how they turn out. Thanks, Tricia for a new way to use up my garden zucchini.

Corn On The Cob (Easy Cleaning and Shucking)

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
Perfect every time! I find it's easier to cut the bottom off BEFORE microwaving ... then just grab the top and let the cob slide out.

Baked Ham and Cheese Party Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2013
I wanted to have this made before my guests arrived so I put it all together, covered with foil and refrigerated for about 3 hours ... baked for 10 minutes with foil on and 10 minutes with foil off. I had to substitute sesame seeds for the poppy seeds and omitted the onions. As suggested in other reviews, I reduced the butter to 1/2 cup and added 2 T. brown sugar to the "sauce". Delicious. Will definitely be making these again. These were all eaten before I even thought about getting a picture! Too bad because they looked lovely. Thanks LisaT for this great twist on ham and cheese sandwiches.

Nice combination of flavours. Good change from the usual tuna salad or egg salad. I added 1 T of horseradish because I love it. Thanks for the recipe, Teresa.

Cracker Candy

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2012
After checking the reviews, I substituted brown sugar for the white and toasted coconut for the nuts (allergy). I also prefer to melt the chocolate chips in the microwave. Using parchment paper to line the cookie sheet works perfectly ... catches the "drips" and the cracker candy easily peels off. Nice, nice, nice. This time, I had no saltines so used honey graham crackers. Didn't have enough of any one kind of chocolate chip so used up all the leftovers ... some milk chocolate, some white chocolate, and some chocolate mint. Turned out delicious!!! Thanks, Debbie, for sharing such a wonderful recipe.

Caprese Appetizer

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2012
An almost healthy appetizer! Very tasty. Can also be served in small bowls as a side dish as they do in Italy. The only changes I made were to use cocktail bocconcini instead of the mozzarella and a mixture of golden and grape tomatoes.

Nitey Night Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2012
These are the cutest little bites! After reading reviews, I used these tips: egg whites should be at room temperature, add the sugar (only 1/2 cup) slowly, making sure to incorporate fully, line pan with parchment paper, preheat oven to 425 (instead of 350) before turning off and putting cookies in, and be sure NOT to peek until morning! I didn't add the nuts (allergy). This recipe made 24 cookies. Store in an airtight container. My DIL described these as a party in a cloud.

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2012
Make exactly according to recipe. These are delicious little bites! I used my small cookie scoop to shape them and got 50 cookies. Read afterwards that I should maybe boil longer (2 minutes). Mine are soft, but hold their shape. Irresistible and easy! Thanks, Robin, for posting.

Chex® Muddy Buddies® -- Gluten Free!

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2012
Delicious little bites ... very addicting. As per another reviewer, I put some of the sugar in the bag, added the chex then the remainder of the sugar. Just made it a little easier to mix. Stored in snack sized ziplock bags in fridge. Perfect to just grab a bag and go. Great on a road trip. Will be making again!

Baked Pineapple II

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2012
Was looking for a bread pudding to use up some not-so-fresh bread. This turned out very nice. Reduced the butter to 1/4 cup and the sugar to 1/3 cup white and 1/3 cup brown; added 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Good by itself or topped with ice cream if you want something sweeter. Thanks, Lynne.
