This is an excellent granola recipe. Like most people who have tried the recipe, I changed it up a bit. I cut back on the wheat germ and used 1 cup; I didn't use oat bran, I used wheat bran but cut back to 3/4 cup. I left out the pecans and put in approx. 3/4 cup of almonds and 1/2 cup of walnuts. I didn't add the maple syrup; I used about 3/4 cup of honey and 1/4 cup brown sugar. I used about 3/4 cup of canola oil and 4 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil. I added about 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. And then I added dried blueberries and cranberries but put in about 1 1/4 cup with the mixture of both berries. I don't like granola too sweet and I like just some fruit but not a lot. I like the oat/wheat flavor to stand out, which it does in my version (not to say the original version doesn't). Finally I baked it at 250 for 30 minutes. Every 10 minutes I kept turning it over for even baking. Super yummy.
