Pork Butt Roast with Vegetables

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2012
This was my first time roasting a pork butt (very affordable) so I followed the recipe; the only tweak that I made was substituting vegetable stock for the water, as I had a lot of it and didn't have many uses for it. This turned out to be one of the most scrumptious dishes that ever came out of our oven, oh, man it was tender, and I don't think I have to mention that the veggie stock made some killer gravy! M-m-m-m-m! Thanks for this recipe, a definite keeper.

Hearty Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
I made this over the weekend, with only two minor adjustments. I thought it could be just a little bit more "tomatoey" so I added a 6 oz. can of tomato sauce. My wife isn't a fan of rice, so I substituted orzo for the rice, and it was PERFECT! And so much better than that boxed stuff. This is a definite keeper, FOOD OF THE GODS for sure. Thank you, Mel.

Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken

Reviewed: May 1, 2011
This was fantastic! Made exactly according to the recipe, piled onto big, crusty kaiser rolls plus fries and coleslaw. Soooooo much better than that stuff in those plastic tubs. Ding-Ding-Ding---Keeper!!!

Teriyaki Steak

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
This is the way I make London broil on the charcoal grill during the summer months. Only difference is that I leave it in the bag (turning every so often) for 2 days. Making sure I have a cool spot on the grill, I sear the meat until there are some char spots on it, then move it over to the cool spot, cover the grill, let it cook to the desired doneness (medium rare for us) and then slice it into wafer thin slices against the grain of the meat, and ooooo-la-la! Leftovers make incredible salads and sandwiches. Well, you already know that! Thanks for sharing your recipe and technique. Al

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
This is the BEST sirloin tip roast I have ever made or eaten. I soaked up some of that incredible aujus with a few dinner rolls after eating the beef. I read in Joel's bio that he likes to grill and BBQ, and I'd bet money that this recipe has been used on the ol' charcoal grill a few times. Thanks, Joel, this is definitely a keeper.....Al
