Tater Tot Casserole I

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
This was great! Changes I made: Omitted meat completely, used four eggs, and two cups of cheese. I put the egg/milk mixture in the pan first, then dropped in the tater tots (which I had baked for about ten minutes first) and covered it all with the cheese. Baked it for 45 minutes and it was perfect! It was also great served with ketchup on the side.

Fantastic Lemon Butter Fillet

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
Family liked this, followed the recipe fairly closely, except we didn't have a couple of the spices so I just left them out. Tried first on cod, will try on another fish again!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
Very good! I have made BBQ pork before and it took a very long time and was a lot of work. This recipe tasted just as great, and was so much simpler! I used a 2.5 lb shoulder, and cooked it on low for four hours and then on high for another two. Used the full bottle of BBQ sauce and it was excellent! Next time I think I will skip the oven part though. It seemed to overcook the meat a little.

Creamy Spinach Soup

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
A great soup! The whole family loved it, even after being skeptical about "spinach soup." I increased the amount of liquid slightly (I wanted to use up the full quart of half and half) and also the amount of onions (a half of white onion finely chopped) but I kept the amount of spinach the same. It was great! I left it simmering about 30 minutes and it was very creamy and flavorful!

Baked Potato Skins

They were great! Followed the recipe exactly except for omitting the parm cheese (we didn't have any.)

Pam's Bierocks

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
This was good. I used frozen dough instead of making my own, but followed the rest of the recipe pretty close. It was a little bland though, and if I made it again, I think I might add in some shredded cheese to the meat mixture. Would be a five star with some tweaking!

Poor Man's Fried Rice

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
This is a very good starting point for fried rice. I did a few things differently, such as refrigerating the rice after cooking it. I also added in a few more veggies (red peppers, zucchini, broccoli, whatever I had left over.) I also added some crumbled up cooked bacon. The sesame oil was a nice touch!

Cheesy Ramen Noodles

Reviewed: May 19, 2009
For how easy and inexpensive this is, it's worth trying once. I added the slice of cheese and a little butter then microwaved it thirty seconds like suggested by someone else, and it melted together well. After a couple minutes though it got rather dry and I wished I'd added a little milk like suggested. I also only used half the packet of seasoning, which was a good amount. It had an interesting taste, and like I said, was definitely worth trying once.

Pan Pierogies

Reviewed: May 19, 2009
It was alright. My expectations may have been to high, but I was a little let down. It really had a powered-potato taste to it. If I were to try again, I would use real potatoes. However, I don't think I'll be trying it again. Not for me. -- After having this dish again the next day as leftovers, I must come back and give it another star. It was much much better! This is great, considering the recipe makes quite a bit so you can make it sunday and enjoy it throughout the week very quickly.

Creamed Salmon on Toast

Reviewed: May 22, 2009
This was pretty good. I used a smaller can of salmon (I didn't know it was going to be so expensive!) but next time I think I will use the larger can so it has more of a salmon-taste. The sauce thickened up quickly, and it all mixed together very well. A little on the bland side.

Spinach Dip I

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Good. Used onion soup mix instead of vegetable. Makes a lot, will cut in half next time. There will definitely be a next time!

Quick Gnocchi

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
This was not at all to my liking. I followed the recipe exactly, and all I came out with was a mess and bland food. Normally I'm a fan of bland food, but there was just something strange about this. Ending up being a waste of time and ingredients. It could just be that gnocchi is not for my family.
