Sourdough Starter

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2012
This has been such a fun project! My husband started the starter and we've made Sourdough Rye and today I made a basic Sourdough loaf. Wow. So delicious, easy and honestly, fun. I've had four people already ask me for the starter recipe just this week!

Gorgonzola and Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
This was incredible!! So easy, fast and delicious! I used some of the suggestions from other reviewers and simple used the apple gorgonzola mixture as a topping, since my pork chops were already on the thin side. I used 1.5 honeycrisp apples and added about 1 tsp of brown sugar to the apples as they sauteed. I served this with acorn squash and wild rice. The apple gorgonzola mixture was excellent mixed in with the rice and squash too! This will be added to our regular rotation throughout the fall and winter!

Catherine's Pickled Blueberries

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2010
WOW!! I was intrigued by this recipe...much to the dismay of my family. They all thought it sounded bizarre. We sampled it over goat cheese last night and LOVED it!! Today we tried it over brie. Even better!! I am making another batch to be sure I have enough for us to eat regularly and perhaps have some available for gifts during the holidays.

Lazygirl's Ground Turkey Stroganoff

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
I used some of the tips provided by other reveiwers, but still thought this meal was bland. I added shallots, garlic, thyme and salt. My husband liked it, after he nearly emptied the pepper shaker on it. I might use this as a base recipe in the future, but it's just as likely I'll find another stroganoff recipe to work from.

Apple Chicken Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
I love this recipe! I've made it for my family many times, using both the slow cooker and the stove. When I shared some with friends, they raved and insisted I give them the recipe. Now they too make it often for their families. This is comfort food at it's best! The one thing I do tend to change from the recipe is I add about twice as much apple cider. We like a lot of sauce...also once I added sweet potato chunks. MMMmm...

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2008
I made these for my son's Fall party--they disappeared in minutes. Several parents and even the teacher asked me for the recipe! I've made them a few times and every time, I think "Wow, these are so easy and so good!".

Herb Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
I made this roast for my in-laws a couple nights ago and received RAVE reviews...from the moment they walked in the front door and smelled it! I followed the first part of the recipe, but never even made the glaze. Just dry roasted it for 3 hours...it was mouth-watering! Making it again tonight with a few different herbs to mix it up a bit. Tossed potatoes and carrots in the pot for the last 40 minutes or so. Mmm Good.

Slow Cooker Pineapple Pork Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2007
I tried this recipe because I was curious about a recipe with so few ingredients. Now I make this a couple of times a month. My husband LOVES it, my three year old can't get enough and even my hard-to-please 6 year old loves the smell when we walk in the house after school. It's easy, delicious and a little different than the usual. The pork just falls apart, and the pineapple carmelizes...Mmm Good.

Chicken Vicious

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2003
Wow! My husband summed it up with "This is a company meal!" I've tried dozens of stir-fries and found some that were so-so, but none really grabbed me. This one did! I subbed beef for the chicken, added chopped extra firm tofu, and used broccoli and carrots instead of the peas and green onions. It was amazingly delicious!! My husband said "Keep this recipe handy". I plan to!

Cola Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2003
I was intrigued by this, but ended up disappointed. When I suggested a few changes to the recipe, my husband asked if I'd try them while he was out of town. It was definitely easy, but not even close to tasty enough to make again.

Spinach and Strawberry Salad

Wow! My In-law's also inhaled this! Even my 18 month old ate it! I'm making it to take to some friend's that just had their 2nd child, and have tons of family visiting. I'm sure it'll go fast! Just make it once, and you'll be hooked!

Rhubarb Cream Pie

Reviewed: May 23, 2002
My mother-in-law has been using this same recipe since she was in college! I just made it for the first time yesterday. I made two! It took under five minutes (once the rhubarb was chopped) and was a snap! My husband was thrilled, as this is his all-time favorite dessert. I'm intimidated by pies, so I put off getting the recipe. I will probably make this at least once a week all summer!

Easy Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2001
I tried this first with cherries from my own tree. Didn't turn out too tasty. Tried it again with fresh peaches. It was amazing! We even had it for breakfast this morning! Not too sweet, but you really taste the fruit! I'm trying it again tonight with fresh blueberries.
