My husband requested these because he remembers having them as a kid when his parents owned a bakery. His mother couldn't cut the size of the recipe down, but this recipe looked like what he had described to me. These are delicious! I had to add more flour to keep the dough from being sticky. I learned that they are best when the dough is rolled thin, and 2 tsp of filling is just right. I used a 3 inch circle and also a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Other shapes will work too! I had a lot of extra dough and froze it, I could have doubled the amount of filling in this recipe in order to use up all the dough. It takes time to make these, but the ingredients are simple and my husband's reaction is worth it!
