About this Cook
I am 26, currently living in PA, but a native Marylander. Recent newlywed. Love spoiling my husband and my rescued beagle :D
My favorite things to cook
chicken-it is so versatile!, Mexican, any kind of dessert, i love trying new recipes but putting my own twist on them
My favorite family cooking traditions
cooking Thanksgiving dinner with my dad and sister, making homemade pizza, fresh cinnamon rolls Christmas morning, putting Old Bay on everything!!
My cooking triumphs
my stuffed porkchops are famous. one of my favorite meals that i made was for my husband's birthday the first year we were dating. It was: crab stuffed mushrooms, my stuffed porkchops, roasted asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. Also, this past November, I made 120 cupcakes for my sister's wedding. A lot of work but so worth it!
My cooking tragedies
Oh God, last Christmas Eve, staying up until 2am trying to finish the home made cookies and candy that I decided to make for everyone on my list. Needless to say, I didn't budget my time properly and oh man was it a coffee filled Christmas.

Strawberry Muffins
I made these into mini muffins (baked 10 mins at same temp.) and they turned out great! I made the recipe exactly as written for my first pan, and then made the rest with some modifications so I could compare. I added cinnamon sugar to the tops of some and then added 1/4 of mini choc chips to the last 10. While the modifications were good, I actually preferred the "plain" ones. I felt like the other flavors competed with the strawberry. The "bland" flavor of the original muffin lets the flavor of the strawberries really shine through. Will probably be making these when my fresh raspberries come in!

Hazelnut Chocolate Chip Scones
more like a c.c. muffin than the type of scone I was after. Too much almond extract as well, next time I'll use less. They have a good chocolate taste and were pretty quick and easy so I might make again.

Cracked Sugar Cookies I
great taste, my boyfriend really liked them. Mine didn't crack for some reason, but they were starting to brown around the edges so i took them out. Going to try again soon!
