Basil Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2014
This was DELICIOUS! I used fresh basil from my garden (it's about the only edible item in my garden the critters haven't eaten). I'm planning on having my sister-in-law over for a BBQ this coming weekend and can't wait to serve this. She is a phenomenal cook so I'm always a little intimidated when we have them for dinner. I won't worry about serving this! Thanks, Gail! This is a KEEPER!

Maple Walnut Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2013
My husband made this yesterday for visitors from Colorado. OMG! It was SO light and delicious. This just might be the ONLY pumpkin pie recipe we use in the future. It was very, VERY good! Wish I had taken a photo before it was annihilated and in out tummies!

Sweet Barbeque Beans

Reviewed: May 18, 2013
My mother made these for years but she had a few different ingredients. She didn't use any meat but that sounds good. She chopped 2 large onions (sauteed in bacon grease), 8-12 slices of bacon (cooked and chopped), 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1 tsp. mustard, 1/2 tsp. garlic powder, 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. pepper, 1/2 C. cider vinegar, 2 15-oz. butter beans (drained), 1 1-lb, can green lima beans (drained), 1 1-kb red kidney beans (drained, 2 1-lb cans baked beans (good quality)...DO NOT DRAIN, 1 C. catsup and 1 T. liquid smoke. She baked them for 1 hour but I bake mine in a crock pot on low for 4-5 hours (or longer), They are FANTASTIC. Wonderful memories from my childhood!

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
Really liked this pork roast. I was VERY easy which is what I needed this evening. Next timeI I "might" cut back on the cayenne just a "bit". My husband almost ALWAYS uses horseradish on pork but didn't this evening. He liked it just the way it was. And THAT'S a huge compliment. Thanks for submitting this recipe.

Bacon Broccoli Salad with Raisins and Sunflower Seeds

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2013
After beginning to make this salad, I realized all of my raisins had been eaten up by a "little mouse" (kids). So I used Craisins and it was delicious. Also, the Craisins added color. Everyone enjoyed it and hubby wants me to make it again!

Broccoli Crunch Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2013
I thought this recipe was VERY easy and VERY good. But when I went to look for my raisins, they were "gone". So, I substituted dried Craisins (dried cranberries). The only bacon I had was frozen so I used real bacon bits. I forgot to mention I used "light" mayonnaise to lessen the fat. It was yummy. I received numerous compliments from my hubby. So I guess I will make this one again!

Becky's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
I served it two days ago to my sister and niece (and seven more people). It was excellent! The only change I made was to add some dried cranberries. I've already had four requests for the recipe. Thanks, Becky, for the recipe!

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: May 14, 2012
I made this for Mother's Day morning and added anything and everything I thought of adding. It was delicious! I mixed cheddar cheese w/bleu cheese, added real bacon bits and some diced ortega chiles plus more...just can't recall what. When I served it, I put a tad of sour cream and salsa on the top. I think I prefer it with only the salsa. BUT, it will DEFINITELY be made in my house often. Thanks, ANY14TNS! UPDATE: I've made this three times since Mother's Day. EVERY time it turns out delicious. Today I used tomato/basil feta cheese as suggested in another review. IT IS TO DIE FOR!

Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2012
I wish Rozanrenee would make a version that isn't filled with so much fat and still is as good as it sounds.

Cranberry Chipotle Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
I've served these at least four times over the holiday season. They are easy, healthy and REALLY good. They have been a hit with everyone. I haven't tried using a stronger cheese (Gorgonzola/Blue Cheese) yet but will the next time I prepare them. They are TERRIFIC

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
I hadn't read the recipe well before beginning to make the marinade. I had a 6 lb. pork tenderloin so I needed to times the recipe by SIX. It turned out incredibly good. The outside was crispy and the inside was perfect. I basted the roast 3-4 times while cooking it. I baked it at 325 for @ 3-1/2 hours. This one will certainly be made over and over again! Thanks for this recipe!

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
My jello topping never really set, therefore the pretzel crust turned quite soggy. And it wasn't a "pretty dish" to serve. Thank goodness it was only for me, my hubby, and two small grandsons.

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
I've been making this applesauce for many years. It IS delicious AND easy. I add the 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon. Then I add about 1/4 cup of cinnamon candies....it adds a pink tint and a little more cinnamon touch.

Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
I have made this casserole for years and years. IT IS DELICIOUS. As for the person giving this ONLY ONE STAR ..... If it had been made as directed, rather than substituting almond powder for the sausage AND using butter instead of creamed corn (?????) he would have found it delicious. With all these changes he should not have rated this recipe.

Pepper Jelly Appetizer

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
I've been making this for years and years. I always try something new, like different jellies and toppings. Chopped pistachios are also good as well as chopped almonds. Wheat Thins or Triscuits and best!

Sweet Spicy Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
I made these for my daughter/hubby while up in Portland on Halloween. Everyone loved them! But I mistakenly didn't pour the seeds into a bowl prior to adding the "sweet & spice". I kept them on a cookie and the mixture only stuck to a small portion of the seeds. Next time I'll put them in a bowl!
