Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2007
We only had an hour to marinate our T-bones, but it still tasted delicious. I can't wait to try this and marinate for at least 24 hours. I bought good quality beef, so it was tender and as if we went to a restaurant. Even though we had an hour to marinate, we could taste the wonderful combination of flavors.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2007
I must be the only one who didn't care for this dish. It was quite flavorless. Maybe I will try it again someday, it's possible I wasn't in the mood to eat it at the time. My kids seemed to like it though.

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2007
With all the flavorful ingredients, this didn't have much flavor. The chicken was tender, but somewhat bland.

The Best Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2007
Really, these are the best. They are actually much better the next day, rather than fresh out of the oven. They stayed moist and chewy for several days. We are not a raisin family so I used chocolate chips instead (omit soaking). We loved these cookies, thanks.

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2007
I thought this was good, didn't change one thing on this recipe. My filling thickened up beautifully, not runny at all. My meringue did weep, which I didn't know what that meant until I looked it up. Apparently, the filling is supposed to be really hot when you spread the meringue to avoid weeping. Unfortunately, I started making the meringue after I had filled my pie shell, so it had cooled some before topping with the meringue. The meringue turned out well without adding anything extra. There are no cooling instructions, but I let it sit on the counter for about an hour and we ate it slightly warm, which I think tasted better than refrigerated.

No-Peek Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2007
This had good flavor. I didn't like the texture of the meat, it wasn't tender but more stringy. Could have just been the quality of the meat.

Teriyaki Marinade III

Reviewed: May 31, 2007
Didn't have much flavor, marinated for 4 hours. Used flank steak. If I use this again, because it's easy, I will try to marinate overnight to see if the flavor is maximized. I did, however, boil the marinade and poured some over each serving, which helped to give some flavor. Otherwise, the meat alone was flavorless.

Tilapia with White Wine Caper Sauce

Simple and delicious. The capers add such a wonderful flavor, you really can't do without them on this one. Served with rice and cheesy broccoli.

Beefy Baked Ravioli

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
This was good. Much quicker and easier than making homemade lasagna. The kids had seconds which was great because they are quite picky. I did season the meat and saute with garlic and minced onions. My favorite sauce is Ragu chunky mushroom and it worked well with this dish.

Enchilada Casserole III

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
Really good and filling. It didn't seem like enough sauce to cover the tortillas. May need to double it or use the canned enchilada sauce that others have suggested.

G's Flank Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
I put this in the broiler and it was delicious. It would probably be even better on an outdoor grill, but we really liked this marinade. My daughter loves flank steak, and I am no longer intimidated to make it.

Simple and delicious. I baked for 40 min. and my chicken was partially frozen yet came out perfectly. I used 1/4 cup of butter and cut the chicken into thick strips. Served with rice and Butter Dill carrots from this site.

Butter Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2005
So easy. Made this twice. First time with regular butter, which tasted great. I didn't think it was too salty, but my husband did. Second time I made with unsalted butter, which was still good, but not as good as the first. So when I try a third time I think I will use half regular and half unsalted butter to cut on the saltiness, but still have good flavor.

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2005
This was really good. I didn't have food coloring, but the kids didn't know any different and they liked it. It didn't take long for me to make even starting with frozen chicken. Frying in batches is what takes time other than that I was done in less than an hour. Even less had my chicken been thawed.
