Elizabeth's Extreme Chocolate Lover's Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This cake is moist, chocolaty and has a gorgeous dark colour! It will be my go-to chocolate cake recipe from now on. Made it as written and it was perfect :) Didn't even notice that it had fat-free sour cream in it as it was all I had.

Chewy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2011
So good!! I added about 1/4 tsp of coconut extract and they tasted so coconutty and yummy. Soft and chewy (exept for the batch I overcooked) but mine were thin even though the marjarine I used was fridge cold and I whipped the butter/sugar until fluffy... maybe longer in the fridge next time? My husband was happy though as he likes thin cookies. Will make again and again! Nice change from chocolate chip or oatmeal cookies.

Old Settlers' Baked Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
Yummy, stick to your ribs goodness... a good way to stretch a pound of beef and make a hearty meal or side dish. I use a full pound of beef and an extra can of kidney beans to make two dinners for my husband with leftovers to freeze.

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2011
Awesome! I'm not sure what makes this meatloaf so good but its my new go-to recipe. I often make a 1.5x recipe and shape a larger loaf in a 9x13" pan so that I can have leftovers. Otherwise it all gets gobbled up the first night!

Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
nice colour and texture. a nice change from regular banana muffins. i added chocolate chips but i think it needed a bit more sugar. i'll make them again with 1 cup of sugar and will bake them at 375F so i can bake a bit longer without browning the top too much... maybe its just my oven though.

Campbell's® Slow Cooker Savory Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
this was my favourite thing i've ever made in my slow cooker!! so tender and flavourful! the only change i made was after the meat and veg were done, i put them in a casserole with a lid to keep warm, then i felt the gravy needed a beef bouillon cube for flavour and some corn starch in water to thicken it up. so awesome and it made a ton of gravy - enough for leftovers the next night!!

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
AMAZING!!! this is now my staple cornbread recipe! i did what other reviewers said and swapped the amounts for the corn meal and flour, so 2 cups of corn meal and 1 1/2 cups of flour. this is a fairly dense recipe and i even beat it for 2 mins, but this is how we like it. other recipes are too cakey and dessert-like, and this one tastes like it was made to go with chili... YUM!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2010
oh wow... so decadent and delicious!! it made a very fudgy, moist divinely chocolatey brownie! a bit thin, but then again if it had been deeper i don't think it would have cooked properly and it likely would have been too rich to eat. i will be making it again for my family to try! a must try with "brownie frosting" from this site!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
SO GOOD!! I added 2 Tbsp of flour (for thickening) for a complete seasoning packet. I also reduced the chili flakes to 1/8 tsp and it was still hot but not unbearably so... Will be making a large batch to keep at hand in the pantry!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
OMG this is soooo good! my mom and husband loved it too and it tastes like it was much harder to make than it is. super easy but looks really fancy! i didn't dredge the chicken in flour either, i just thickened the sauce at the end with a corn starch slurry (1 tbsp corn starch mixed with 1 tbsp cold water). this is going in my regular rotation!!

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2010
just gorgeous! these turned out great, and rose nice and high - they look and taste like bakery muffins! the only thing i'd change next time is to sprinkle some white sugar on top or maybe add more sugar to the muffins themselves.

Salsa Mac and Beef

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2010
alright as is, but i added as some other users suggested one onion and 2 cloves of garlic to the sauteeing beef. i also added 1 tbsp of chili powder, 1/2 tsp garlic salt and a few shakes of hot sauce. my sauce was a bit runny but that could have been my fault so i added a bit of corn startch mixed in cold water. yummy dinner!

Sweet and Sour Meatballs II

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2010
loved this recipe! the only changes i made were to add 1/2 tsp of ginger powder to the meatballs and 1/2 tsp to the sauce. because i wanted to cook the meatballs in the afternoon but not eat it for a couple of hours later when my husband came home, i browned the meatballs and put the sauce ingredients in the slow cooker. once the meat was browned, i dumped them in the slow cooker and put it on high for a couple of hours. perfect! when we were ready to eat i made some brown minute rice, and opened a bag of salad :) easy and so yummy!
