Pita Chips

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
Great basic recipe. I didn't use basil or chervil because I didn't think it would work well with the sausage dip I had, just garlic salt & pepper, and it turned out delicious. The great thing about this is once you add the olive oil you can put pretty much any seasoning you'd like and make it work. I'll definitely be playing with different seasonings and making these again.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
This were just not good. I had high expectations with all the great reviews. I doubled the recipe & added vanilla & chocolate chips. They were incredibly gooey so I didn't bother trying to shape them. At 8 minutes they were definitely NOT cooked so I almost doubled the time...and they somehow were both gooey & very crumbly. Almost burnt tasting, but without actually having the texture of a normal cookie. I'm at altitude between 4500-5000 so I don't know if that could have been part of the problem, but these definitely did not turn out as well at all.

American Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
This recipe has become a fast favorite for my husband and I. I did change a few things (cream of mushroom soup instead of veggie, added a layer of corn, & added biscuits on top) but that's the great thing about this recipe- it's easily changed to fit each person's taste. We love it and make it all the time, I'm SO glad I found this recipe!

Garden Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
Loved it! This was my third attempt at meatloaf, and the only one I really enjoyed. I put tinfoil over it while it cooked, and the next time my husband would like to use a lesser amount of breadcrumbs. But other than that this exact recipe will be followed!

Swiss Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
This meal was good. I felt like there was a little more sauce than necessary, but I did use less chicken breasts than called for. My mom used to make a similar dish but was just cheese and mushrooms I believe...I would stick with that simpler taste myself. But overall a good meal :)

Slow Cooker Beef Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
I really did not enjoy this at all. My husband did, however. We substituted soy sauce for Worcestershire sauce, but I don't think that was a huge difference. All of the veggies ended up tasting like the sauce, like they were drenched. The meat was fine, but I think the same level could be achieved with a different recipe that leaves the veggies tasting nice. I thought the sauce tasted best with the egg noodles I made to go with it, but that is the part my husband didn't like. I doubt we will be trying this again.

Mom's Irish Ziti

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
This was really good. My husband and I both loved it, and I didn't change a thing other than not using red pepper. I do think it would be better to add the Italian seasoning to the meat while cooking next time, but otherwise I will keep things the same :)

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
Delicious! After reading the other reviews I changed a few things though. I used the suggestion of putting half a packet of Ranch mix in with the mayo. Instead of using bread crumbs, I took cheese & garlic croutons and smashed them up, then added about 3 tbls of Parmesan cheese. I didn't use all the mayo, just enough to cover the chicken. My husband & I both loved this and will def. be making it again...he even suggested I make it for his mother so it had to be good!
