This is excellent! This is going to be a "coffee" cake for my husband and me. We have happily done quality assurance.

Scones

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2014
This recipe is excellent! My husband and I love the scones. The too wet dough can be resolved by adding more flour which is what I do and the scones are wonderful. Have used this recipe twice, adding in an extract and/or fruit to get the variaty I am wanting at the time.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2014
This is definitely better than purchased sandwich sauce. I made alterations based on what we prefer: meatloaf mix (instead of grd. beef) and shallots (instead of onions.) This will be the only sloppy joe mix I will use from now on.

This recipe is excellent, I made modifications based on what I had available. My husband loved it. It is a keeper in my recipe file.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
This is a excellent recipe. First time I made two loaves of bread and froze one. The second time and each time since (4-5) I make jumbo muffins which are excellent! The recipe makes 6 jumbo muffins plus 2 custard cup muffins. I only use 2 cups of sugar and I add extra cinnamon (we love it) and a 1/2 tsp. of allspice. Thank you for posting the recipe.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2010
Excellent flavor and so easy. Followed the recipe, using all blueberries for the fruit - not too sweet for our taste. I added some cinnamon to the tablespoon of sugar, coated the blueberries in Minute Tapiocca, and sprinkled lemon juice on the blueberries.

Kosher Salt Encrusted Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
Favorite way to roast a rib roast, used a boneless rib roast, used Adobo seasoning (do not think the additional salt is necessary) - roast was done perfectly (for our taste).

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
Awesome! As other reviewers, I increased the amount of several spices and used hot coffee in place of the water, turned out moist and flavorful. This will go into my recipe file.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
Excellent! I changed a few ingredients to suit our tastes and what I had on hand. Used a lot more garlic (we love garlic and grow our own, so we have plenty on hand), used 1 tablespoon sugar and 1/2 tablespoon of salt, omitted the fennel seed (we do not like fennel).

The Best Meatballs You'll Ever Have

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
Great tasting meatballs, love the red pepper flakes - really like spicy. I added more garlic, like lots of garlic (have home grown garlic.) I used ground beef but I think meat loaf mix will be good, which I will use the next time.

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
These are excellent, followed the recipe exactly, except I had about 2 cups of chopped apple. Will make again and use Splenda in place of sugar. I coated the chopped apples with sugar and cinnamon (my husband and I like lots of cinnamon) before stirring into the batter. I made 6 jumbo muffins so the bake time increased 25 - 28 minutes.

Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
The "glaze" was more of a sauce which worked just fine. The carrots were a side dish to rib steak and glaze/sauce was excellent to dip the steak in.

Easy Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2009
Next time I make this I will spread the fruit out over the batter. I was expecting the fruit (I used peaches) to spread as the cobbler baked, but that did not happen; otherwise this is a good cobbler recipe.

Blueberry Crisp II

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2009
I love this recipe! Have made it three times, 1st with blueberries; 2nd with blueberries and blackberries (both were tart, tossed the berries with 1/2 c. sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon); 3rd with peaches (tossed with sugar and cinnamon) - every time the results were excellent. I believe this recipe will be perfect for any fruit.
