Apricot Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2003
This is a very good soup. Different but in a good way. I didn't think pureeing half at the end was necessary. Also I didn't seed or peel the tomatoes. Just diced them up and added to the soup. I also used non stick spray and "sweated" the onions, garlic and apricot to cut most of the fat out of it. I will definately make this soup again.

Mushroom Crusted Ham and Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2003
This was wonderful. I sauteed a couple of cloves of garlic with the mushrooms. I didn't have herb flavored cream cheese so I added 1 tbsp of pesto. I'm doing a low-carb thing right now so I didn't add the bread crumbs and increased the parmesan cheese to 1/2 c. Thanks so much for submitting this recipe!

Kalamata Olive and Garlic Bread

Reviewed: May 24, 2005
I made this bread yesterday. Followed the recipe to a T. I measured the flour with my scale weighing 1 pound = 4 c of flour. This is one of the easiest recipes for bread that I've ever used. Wonderful results. Will make again. Thanks for posting this recipe.

Apple Pie Waffles

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2005
These were really good. I'm following a balanced healthy diet plan. I switched the whole wheat flour for whole grain pastry flour with great results. Also took in to consideration small chunks of apples versus grated apples. I ended up with 5 waffles instead of 4. Per waffles 81 cal with a whooping 7.62 grams of fiber. I served this waffles with 2 tbsp of almond butter. Thank you so much for submitting this healthy recipe! Will make again.

Steak Brunchallta

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2004
This was absolutely wonderful. I doubled the whole recipe and it was very well received. I will make this again. Thank you for posting this recipe. If steak isn't your "cup of tea" you could sub pork, chix or even shrimp.

California Roll Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2004
This was really good. I'm doing a low-carb thing right now (just like the rest of the country) so I left out the rice. The wasabi powder doesn't come through (no heat) I have wasabi paste so I'm going to try it with the paste. Thank you for posting this recipe I will make it too many times for anyone to ever count!

Stuffed Pepperoncini

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2005
I actually tried this recipe several months ago. I ALWAYS cook my bacon in the microwave. I sauted the shallot, red pepper in 1-2 tbsp of the drippings elimanating the too greasy part. I cut a slit down the side of peppers. Other reviewers suggestion to drain juice from peppers is a good recommendation. Also combining cream cheese, bacon and vegatables in food processer help speed prep time. These are time consuming but worth the time. Thanks for submitting this recipe.

Black Bean Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2003
Awesome soup great flavors and goes together fast and easy. I "sweated" the onion and garlic w/ non stick spray to cut the fat a little. Used frozen corn in place of the canned corn. In place of the veg broth I used chick broth. I will definately make this soup over and over again.

This is a wonderful soup hot and sour. I also didn't puree the vegatables. I added shredded cheddar cheese to the soup. Will make this soup again.

Rocky Road Fudge Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2005
I made this recipe a week ago. Very rich and definately on the sweet side. I switched out the walnuts for macadamia nuts. Loved the marmallows. When I make again would reduce the sugar maybe by half. Thanks for posting this recipe.

Cuban Beef Stew

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2005
I made this stew a week ago. I kept past reviewers suggestions in mind while making this stew. I doubled the recipe browning the beef cubes then combining everyting in the crockpot on high for 4 hours. I tried out the recipe on my husband his reply "different, but good" having another bowl. I used 1/2 pound of potatoes for double the recipe. I will definatly fix this stew again thanks for posting this recipe.

Roquefort Pear Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2004
I must join in on the praises of this salad. I fixed this salad followed the recipe but made one change I candied the pecans using Splenda instead of sugar. Also served the roquefort on the side because of guest preferences. My friend loved this salad proclaiming she ate the leftovers the next morning for breakfast. Plan on fixing this salad for lunch today. Another thing to note I used bagged salad mix about 1 1/4 pounds instead of head lettuce speeding up the process a bit.

Red Pepper-Salmon Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2003
This was very good. I took a previous reviewer suggestions and nervously grilled the salmon on my George Foreman grill. I served the salmon pasta with steamed green beans. I will fixed this recipe over and over again. I left out the cilantro. Going to have to try it sometime with it.

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2003
This is an awesome spinach salad recipe. Last night I subbed Splenda for the sugar. Also cut the oil to 1/4 c adding 1/4 c of water in place. These changes didn't affect the salad at all. I roasted a few macadamia nuts and chopped them up and added those versus the almonds very good.

Frosted Banana Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2004
I must join in on the praises of these banana bars. I made 2 batches having my husband bring a pan to work with him. They were so good he thought about just leaving them here. I promised I would make another batch so they went to work with him. This recipe is very rich so instead of using a frosting I used Better Homes and Garden cream cheese icing recipe which I think was perfect. Thank you for taking the time to submit this awesome recipe!

Grilled Asparagus with Orange Wasabi Dressing

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2004
I loved this recipe thought it was very good. I made one change (just a preference thing) I used wasabi paste instead of wasabi powder. The paste has "kick" and flavor the powder I can't taste anything. Also didn't plate with napa cabage didn't have any asparagus alone.
