Cherry Tomatoes Filled with Goat Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2012
Well I guess I semi had this because there isn't goat cheese here in Korea. I used cream cheese with a splash of cream. We really enjoyed them and it would probably be a really good appetizer at a party.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2012
I used veggie sausage instead of meat ones and omitted the parsley. I just used a splash of salt and not the full amount it said. I'd like a bit more cheese though but I didn't use all that they said. Really good and not bad for my first attempt at lasagna!

Beef Bulgogi

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
Only changes I made was I doubled it and didn't add sesame seeds (the commissary was out) but it was great. We had it for dinner and it was ok (only marinating an hour) but we then had it again for lunch the next day (the rest marinating over night ~18 hours) and it was so tasty! I would really recommend longer than an hour. Next time I'll add the sesame seeds but it was still perfect without them!

Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
This was great! After reading some of the reviews, people stated it needed "something" so I threw in some bacon bits as the cheese was melting and it was wonderful! Other than that I followed the recipe exactly. I had one helping but my hubby cleaned the rest of the bowl!

Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2011
These were really yummy! My husband was in charge of the sweet potatoes for our Christmas meal. They turned out really well, the only issue was the marshmallows on top didn't brown but instead just melted back into the sweet potatoes. We could only find mini marshmallows at the Commissary so we think that could have been the issue. Next year, we'll try it with the larger marshmallows if we can find them but the taste was still spectacular!

Holiday Ham Slices

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2011
This was good. Christmas was only going to be me and my husband and we didn't want to get a huge ham just for us. We used Canadian bacon and ham. We doubled the recipe and cooked everything in the sauce. The Canadian bacon tasted a little better than the ham but both were delicious. I gave it 4 stars because the sauce turned from a pretty purple while cooking to a dull grey color and didn't look very appetizing but that could have been because it was cooked longer since we couldn't fit all the ham and Canadian bacon in the sauce pan at one time.

Never Enough Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2011
This was great, we used it for our Christmas meal this year. We didn't change anything else but a little extra bacon bits. You can never have too many bacon bits!

Luscious Eggnog

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
The egg was so bad in it, I thought I sifted out all the scrambled part but I missed a bunch or it just turned chunky while it chilled. My husband also thought it was way to much rum (and he's in the Army and isn't afraid to knock back a few). If you venture to try this recipe, defiantly follow what the other reviewers said about cooking the egg but I think it would have been better raw.

Chili Dog Casserole I

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
I really enjoyed this but I made a few changes. I used prepared chicken stuffing on the bottom instead of hot dog buns. I used 6 oz but I would double that next time. I only used 4 turkey hot dogs and 1 1/2 cups of cheese. I used a 15 oz can of chilli which seemed like the perfect amount so if you use the original recipe, I would use more chilli. I also sprinkled garlic powder and garlic salt when it came out of the oven. My husband added red pepper flakes to his dish. All in all it was a really good dish.

Gary's Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
Simply amazing! I hate mushrooms but my husband loves them. This recipe looked good compared to some of the others and it by far has changed my mind about mushrooms. The only problem is this makes WAY MORE than for 12 mushrooms. We've been eating the left over stuffing for 2 days for lunch we had so much left over but it still tastes good without being stuffed in the mushrooms.

Garlic Parsley Spaghetti

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
This was great! It's quick and tastes good. My husband and I added a little garlic salt and garlic powder to taste after we had taken it off the stove. He added a dash of curry powder to his because he likes spice and said it was good.

Spinach Basil Pesto

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
The pesto is great! I used it on whole wheat pasta and it didn't taste as wonderful as out of the bowl. I will use it on white pasta next time and I hope that will carry the flavor from mixer to pasta.

Robbi's M&M Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
These cookies were great! I made them twice and they last a long time. I shipped some to my husband who is currently deployed and they lasted 2 1/2 weeks in a box! But of course they taste perfect right out of the oven. I made them a second time and I forgot to put the butter in and I took them to a Christmas party. Surprisingly, everybody loved them so next time I might only use half the butter recommended. I also used Recesses peanut butter chips instead of M & M's and they were wonderful!
