Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
I haven't made French Toast before, but I have eaten a lot of restaurant versions and this was up there with the best of them. I will definitely make this again! It was much easier than I ever imagined. I always made pancakes because I thought French Toast was too hard. But this was fast! I used very large slices of artisan bread and only had enough egg mix for 7 slices, but that was more than enough for two people!

Kolacky

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
The cookie is fairly easy to make. I had a problem with them exploding open in the oven, but found that I needed to roll the dough thinner and I probably need to use a bigger circle. I did not think that using a 2 and 3/4 inch diameter circle would make a difference, but it did. It was hard to get enough jelly in them. But all that aside, it is one of the most delicious cookies I have ever tried and I will keep trying until I can make them perfect (or until I weigh 500 pounds which ever comes first)!

Holly Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
They are easy to make, but they are sticky and gooey. Maybe that is great for some, but I find them rather unappetizing. Couldn't find the old fashioned kind of liquid food coloring and could not get the wreaths a dark enough green. I used an entire tube of the new gel food coloring and they ended up a dark pastel green.

Homemade Pork Sausage

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
Because I recently found out that I am allergic to onions and garlic, I have had to find new and flavorful ways to cook. This recipe was great. I only made half a recipe because it is just hubby and me. But next time I may make a full or double recipe and freeze most to make a quick and easy microwave breakfast. WOW! What flavor!

White Bread For The Bread Machine

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
The first time I made this, the bread rose so high that the bread hit the lid of the bread maker and blocked the vent! Still turned out a delicious loaf. For the second loaf, I cut back the yeast to 2 Tablespoons. It did not rise as far as to block the vent, but still hit the lid. Next loaf, I will cut the yeast back to 1 and 3/4 and see what happens. The bread is very light and fluffy. Made great toast. It seems to tear easily when cutting, so let it cool. I will most likely refridgerate the next loaf before cutting if I intend to use it for sandwiches.

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
Excellent cake, but this is the heaviest cake. I made it for my sister's birtday and everyone loved it. I really never realized how many carrots 6 cups is. It took nearly an hour to grate carrots! Unless you have all day, this is a two evening process.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
I have to say that this is the most perfect cream cheese frosting that I have ever tried. It is not to sweet and very creamy. The recipe says to store leftover in the refrigerator. . .who has leftovers!? I just hope that there is enough left for the cake that is still in the oven!!!!!
