About this Cook
I'm a wife to a wonderful hubs and a mother to 2 adorable little boys- that keep me very busy! With 2 young boys, I am now a SAHM and "home-maker." Whenever I get some time, I love to try any new recipe I can get my hands on-cooking, baking..I love it all. Someday I hope to have a little family- run bistro/cafe!
My favorite things to cook
I would have to say the most satisfying thing to make is bread- because after all that time and effort if it comes out perfect you can be proud! I also enjoy making homemade pizzas, pasta... I love to try anything once and work at mastering the recipe before I move on.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making all the things that remind me of back home and holidays- as I'm sure everyone does! Some examples: Poutine(fries/cheese curds/gravy), anything with maple syrup, tourtieres (meat pie) and all the desserts!
My cooking triumphs
When I made my first thanksgiving for 30 people and pulled it off!
My cooking tragedies
The one that sticks out the most is when I was in grade school and finally mastered apple pie with my grandmother- I was so excited to make a pie for someone! So, I went to my good friends house and told her family that I could make the BEST, most delish apple pie they have ever had and to give me a chance! Me being young they were skeptical but I was ready to "wow" them! So, I made the pie, exactly how my grandmother and I made it (It was beautiful) ... I threw it in the oven and came back right when the timer when off! I ran to open the oven and a gust of smoke hit my face and when I looked down the pie was crispy BLACK. I turned the oven to 450 instead of 350...yup. lol. Needless to say they didn't trust me near there stove again!!

Carrot Cake III
Delish!- I switched up some ingredients to make it healthier by adding low-fat yogurt and apple sauce for the oil, came out great!

Honey Oatmeal Bread II
The taste is 5 star...but every time I make this it never rises like I want it to. I make plenty of different types of bread and this is the only one I have trouble with rising. I tried letting it rise longer-tried different pans... I just can't get that big beautiful dome!
