Jalapeno Bread II

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2013
I made this recipe twice. As other reviewers, I added more jalapeños and Cheese for extra flavor. I used the bread machine the first time and the dough didn't rise much and the loaf was dense and pale in color, but tasted good. The second time I made the dough in the bread machine, took it out and put it in a loaf pan to rise for about 30 minutes (I was running out of time!) and then baked it at 350 for 30 minutes. I used an egg wash for a lovely crust and it looked and tasted delicious!

Simple Slow Cooker Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
I love the idea of meatloaf in the slow cooker! I made this recipe, but also added chopped bell peppers and a small onion to the meat mixture, as I would in my other meatloaf recipe. This is very convenient and doesn't heat up the kitchen.

Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
I had all of the ingrediants on hand for this recipe and made it as directed. It should be banana nut cake rather than bread, because the loaf was so light and fluffy. I thought that it was just ok, but the folks at my church loved it!! It definitely gets high marks for ease of preparation and simplicity.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
I loved the concept of a slow cooked turkey breast. I used a three pound breast and 1/2 envelope of dry soup mix. I cooked it on high for one hour and then three hours on low. When I checked the temp. it was done, so make note of cooking times for smaller birds. I usually like the taste of onion soup mix in recipes, but it didn't work well in this one. The flavors did not go together well. I will do this again with different seasonings.

Tuscan Chard and Cannellini Bean Soup

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
This is a delicious, hearty soup. Next time I would cook the bacon a bit longer before adding the onion, and I would not add the chard stems, just the leaves. I added a can of diced tomatoes with garlic because I didn't have the sundried tomatoes. Thanks!

Strawberry Whipped Sensation

Reviewed: May 11, 2011
This was a fantastic recipe and everyone enjoyed it. I pureed the 2 cups of strawberries in a food processor before adding the other ingreadients. I found that an 8 oz container of cool whip left "just enough" to frost the finished product. I prepared this the day before and then removed from the freezer and frosted it just before my guests arrived. I put the deocorated dessert in the refrigerator and served it promply after dinner. It was delicious!!

Cream of Broccoli Soup III

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
This soup is delicious! I tweaked it a bit by adding more celery, an extra garlic clove and a handful of baby carrots, but essentially stayed with the original recipe. It is easy and quick to make! 5 stars!

Chocolate Pudding Cake IV

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
I made this in a crockpot and after about 3 hours it was starting to burn on the bottom. The recipe calls for 6 hours, so be careful about the timing of your crockpot. The cake was delicious and everyone enjoyed it, but in the future I will watch the time.
