One More Reason to Give Thanks

We've seen a lot of blogs recently, reflecting and giving thanks for our blessings.  I would like to add a more specific thank you.  A thank you from all of us who are able to enjoy the comraderie of this website.

This is a place where new cooks can learn and where more experienced cooks can still learn as well as share their wisdom.  Where questions about cooking can be asked without feeling inadequate and are answered quickly by some awesome and talented people. They are the folks in the AR "neighborhood" that will invite you in for a cup of virtual coffee and a piece of "AR Buzz" pie.

Folks have met on-line here and have taken the leap of faith to meet their fellow buzzers and bloggers.  Personally, I have been very fortunate to have met some wonderful folks here and can't believe some of the relationships that have developed.  They are all awesome people.

This is a site where funny stories are shared to make others smile and laugh.  In these tough times, laughter may not cure all problems, but a few chuckles here and there can't hurt.

We've shared joy, we've shared pain.  We've celebrated weddings and babies, we've mourned the loss of loved ones.  We have honored our military currently serving and those that have served so bravely in the past.  People have shared their personal lives to educate others.

As we approach Thanksgiving, take just another moment to give a little thanks for those that we have met here (on-line or in person) and the opportunity that AR has given us to share.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  May everyone travel safely and enjoy the holiday weekend.

Very nice blog Miss Blossom. I enjoy my morning cup of coffee with my new buzz friends. Where I've met some cooks that don't live too far from me, hopefully we will all be able to have a wonderful gathering in the near future like so many I've read about on here. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Very nice Magnolia! When I first joined up here that was quite a bit of drama going on amongst some folks, but I've noticed that has all pretty much stopped and this is a great place to come and spend a few moments with my "virtual friends". One of these days I'm going to meet some of you great folks in person. Happy Thanksgiving!
Nov. 23, 2011 4:32 am
Gee, all the blogs I've read today have given me the "warm fuzzies". I, too, am thankful for so many things. Especially getting to know, via AR, so many great folks out in cyberland. Hopefully, someday I will get to meet some of you here in the midwest. Thanks to all who reminded us again to be thankful for the small things! A very Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Perfectly spoken MB. I am very thankful for all of the wonderful people here who let me in on a little bit of their lives and let me live vicariously though some of your outings together. Someday, I hope to get to meet some of you as you said, after I find that winning lottery ticket. Wishing you and everyone here a most Blessed Thanksgiving!

Dear Lora - Cathill sent me over here to check out your blog and here I am at work half choked up and my eyes welled with tears! Albeit, happy tears! As I read your blog, I was able to interject your voice into your words - you are such a great lady and I AM very thankful that I've had the opportunity to meet you and get to know you along with a few other fellow midwesterners! Thanks for the great read this morning and for reminding me to take time out from my hectic schedule to pause and realize how truly lucky, grateful and thankful I am!! Happy Thanksgiving, girl!!

What a wonderful and meaningful blog. Thank you for taking some time to write that. This is a great place...kind of like Mr. Rogers always sang "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day for a neighbor...won't you be mine...would you be mine"...... Virtual or not, these folks do feel like the best next door neighbors!!
Nov. 23, 2011 1:21 pm
I've been thinking about your blog all day and the kindness & support you have shown me. So well said indeed! I had to share this with all the other ladies who have met you at my house. I just knew they'd love the blog as much as I did. I see one did have a chance to drop in :)(:
Nov. 23, 2011 7:16 pm
Well my dear friend, from across the country, I have had the pleasure of meeting you and loving every single moment of our meeting. I couldn't have stated your sentiment any better. We are like a family here at AR. Some of us even have the "kooky" neighbor down the street, but that's what makes everything so real in a virtual world. I love that you took time out of your day, took that leap of faith and met us. You are a great lady and an inspiration to many, not to mention what a great sense of humor you have. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you fellow AR'ers .........

Nov. 26, 2011 6:51 pm
Dear sweet Lora, what a wonderful blog! I still find it so interesting that I have friends I've met online. It sounds weird, doesn't it. Probably because in the generation that I grew up in, this just wouldn't ever be possible. I am so very grateful for each abnd every person I've met from AR. And, I'm grateful I've had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know you. You are interesting, adventuresome, and really funny. I am blessed to call you friend. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and got to talk with "Buford." love you girl!
Nov. 26, 2011 7:17 pm
Thanks Candice. I did indeed get to talk to "Buford" and he was able to go to Thanksgiving at a friend's home, so at least he wasn't eating in the chow hall. As far as my being funny, some people I've known for years have never understood my sense of humor. Actually, I don't think my sister has ever understood either. LOL! It takes the right environment and the right people to enjoy a good laugh. Like the people here!
Nov. 27, 2011 11:31 am are truly a keeper and the most adventurous among us! XO
Nov. 27, 2011 11:24 pm
You've said what's in all of our hearts Magnolia Blossom. :) I really and truly am grateful for every single one of our dear AR peeps, their words of advise, comfort and for just lending a ear when I need to rant. Well done on the blog! =D God bless you! :)
Nov. 28, 2011 5:56 am
SO true, Magnolia Blossom!! Thank you for stating it so eloquently! This is a wonderful community! And I might just be one of the kookie neighbors down the street Avon was talking about! ;)
Nov. 28, 2011 8:25 am
Oh, mickdee.... we would get along so wonderfully well. I for sure KNOW that I'm the kooky neighbor down the street. Who do you know that has 9 laying hens in town on a .27 acre lot? I keep the entire neighborhood entertain with the shinanigans going around here. LOL!
Nov. 28, 2011 10:02 am
So true, so true...I love AR and the wonderful people who care and share so freely here. I had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I know I have so many things to be thankful for. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving too, and thanks for the uplifting blog!
