Southern Ham and Brown Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2014
The thing I didn't like about the recipe is that the liquid burned out after 4.5 hours. It was also kind of bland I thought.

Quinoa with Asian Flavors

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2014
Bit salty and overpowering soy sauce taste I thought next time I'll use half as much sauce requested . Really good otherwise.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2012
After many modifications suggested in many other reviews, and a few of my own, they turned out well. For someone who has never made cookies from scratch this recipe and reviews of the recipe is a gook place to start. I reduced the recipe to half and I still reduced the flour to 2 cups instead of 2 1/2 as suggested. I halved the amount of brown and white sugar and added a little bit of honey. I used baking powder rather than soda I doubled the spices suggested, and added some apple butter I happened to have. I thought they weren't spicy enough, and kind of thick. My neighbors loved them though!

Pumpkin Bread

I reduced the recipe to ten servings. Tasted ok, I thought it was a Little too oily, not pumpkiny enough for " pumpkin" bread, not spicy enough either

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2012
Good chops. I made 2, not 6, I cooked them for 3 1/2 hours and were 145 degrees almost exactly. I added a dash of woshtshure sauce (probably not spelled right)I think that was a little much, maybe I'll try honey next time. Anyway good alternative to old dried out pork chops.

Baked Fish and Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2012
I added more spices, and I used half of an onion that I caramelized rather than using french fried onions. With these couple tweaks it was great!

Spicy Pumpkin Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
I didn't follow the recipe exactly, but rather added or didn't add what I had like different veggies and less tomatoes. The most important thing in this recipe is the pumpkin puree and spice. I very much liked the different taste of pumpkin in the typical tomato based chili.

Healthy Banana Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2010
super easy, super fast, and super healthy. Used raisins and dried cranberries to avoid having to cut figs, also suggest adding some spices of your own.

Pretzel Turtles

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
these are great! everyone loves them, and they're so easy to make! (not to mention they're not too bad for the waste line either!) I made mine in the microwave. I found using dark chocolate candies for a minute worked well, also putting the pecans on before putting every thing in the micro also worked well for me. After cooking put the parchment paper with the turtles in the fridge for 1/2 hour or so and they snap right off.

Brownie Oat Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
these cookies taste pretty good, but the best thing is they are so healthy! To make them healthier than the recipe suggests I used non-bleached flour, and honey instead of corn syrup. They are dry though so I added only half the flour the next time I made them and they were good.

Squash and Sweet Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
Very good! I added more garlic because I love it, and I substituted red pepper with black pepper and paprika. It still tasted great, and I got a lot of compliments on it! However preparation was difficult and took a long time. I would suggest using frozen cut up sweet potatoes and squash.

Steamed Tuna Fish

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
This recipe is good, and very easy, and I love that it's so good for ou too! However, I suggest that you don't use all the ginger that is recomended. I used a little Merlot instead of Sherry, and it still wasn't very sweet at all. Next time I might try adding some honey, or maybe peaches.
