Posting a secret family recipe for the world to know?  Who does that?  Who cares.....So glad they did.  YUM *doing happy dance while chewing a meatball*.  In my work for eradicating the faceless recipes on AR.  I came upon this.  Eh, I've made millions of meatballs.  What is another one?  These were not tough.  They didn't fall apart.  I was unsure about them since you didn't brown them first before cooking in sauce.  I think the rolled oats made them creamy soft and moist.  I wasn't sure about the full cup of milk....I didn't have an milk but did have Half and Half.  AWESOME stuff.  Although a fellow Allstar member posted her picture just before me.  She put them on spaghetti....warning- these are a BBQ kinda meatball not something I'd personally put on spaghetti ONLY if you made a different sauce.
Bottom line- awesome meatballs...you'll love them.  We did!

Good Morning Jmackinnell! The meatballs sound wonderful. Wouldn't they be great as mini meatballs for a party!

My meatballs are similar, but just a touch different. I use an egg and probably 3/4 cup of milk. Sometimes I throw in a 1/2 cup of grated carrot.

Looks good, but I would never use rolled oats in a meat ball. if someone made them I would taste them.

I have fun making meatballs. I do use rolled oats in mine but not milk. I especially like your use of half and half. Your photo is super!

I did make these last night and they turned out quite tastey. I served quinoa and corn/peas cornbread casserole.

About Me
I am a Family and Consumer Science teacher (that's Home Ec for the folks who aren't aware we've changed our name.) I have been teaching for over 24 years, absolutely LOVE what I do every day, especially if it's a food demonstration. My students always tell me I need to start my own cooking show...Anyone looking for a new celebrity chef?...LOL.
My favorite things to cook
Baking. anything baked. Breads, cookies, cakes...
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up with many Polish dishes over the holidays. Pierogis filled with cheese or sauerkraut or blueberries...we couldn't get enough since we only got them twice a year during Christmas or New Year's.
My cooking triumphs
I guess when you cook as much as I do, you don't think of them as triumphs...more like KEEPERS. I have gone through many ways of organizing my recipes. Just a notebook of my favorites seem to work best.
My cooking tragedies
In any cook's life a little "souffle will fall." I never let failure get me down. If anything it motivates me to try it again until I get it right. I think I had to make popover over 10 times with different recipes to finally to get them to POP!
