Alicia's Aloo Gobi

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2013
I have made this recipe many times now, for the whole family and everyone loves it. The only change I made was to cut the garam masala in half as it made it too spicy for my 5 year old. Love this one!

Healthier Baked Ziti II

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2013
This was a good spring board recipe. I made a few changes that I believe made it not only healthier than this recipe, but tastier! Rather than use plain turkey, use turkey Italian sausage. If you can find it use smoked fresh mozzarella and chunk it up and add as a layer on top of the pasta as you do your layering. Lastly, add more veggies, I added a whole broccoli stem and all chopped up along with adding a giant handful of spinach to the pasta right after it drained. I also used about 1/2 of the amount of sour cream called for since I tossed the pasta and spinach with it before I started layering. The result was a must make again baked ziti! Yum.

Tandoori Fish

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2013
I was really excited to try this recipe, it sounded perfect for my family. We like big flavors and eat lots of fish, unfortunately we were disappointed. I followed the recipe exactly with one exception, I hand chopped the garlic and ginger instead of using a food processor to mix the paste. Perhaps this would have made the difference so I am willing to give it one more try, but will probably end up changing it a bit. The flavors really did not come through at all... everyone at the table thought it was really bland, even the 5 year old :(

Best Bircher Muesli

Very yummy, I like mine hot. Worth a few extra minutes in the morning for something that is going to stick with me for more than a couple of hours.

This was great, easy and worked in my crock pot. All around a great soup with not lots of ingredients.

Crock Pot Portobello Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
Well, it is the first time I have ever given a recipe a really bad review. I was dubious before I decided to cook it only because the portobello mushrooms could make it really funky and dark but forged ahead anyway since our family likes chicken and mushrooms. Plus it is hard to pass on a 4 ingredient recipe. I followed the recipe as is with the exception of using a low fat dressing as others recommended. The food did not smell good, taste good or look good (as I expected). I ended up chopping up the mushrooms and some of the chicken, sauteing an onion, adding some peas and pesto to the whole mess in the pan and was able to then make something that would work on the pasta that was not entirely scary looking or nasty tasting. I am really sorry, but this recipe did not succeed! I would not recommend it.
