White Chili I
I thought this was really good. it's not quite a five-star recipe in my book, but one that is worth trying. Everyone else liked it more than I did, including my picky twin 8 year olds and 6 year old. Per suggestions, I made the following changes: omitted cayenne pepper because of the kids and added 1T chili powder, 1T lime juice, 2 cans of beans and 1 can of beans ground into paste for a thickener. For toppings, I had sour cream, bacon, Fritos, shredded cheese and green onions. I saw someone had avocado slices in their picture of the dish and I bet that would be tasty too! Good dish for a cold winter's day. Thanks, Dierdre!

The Best Bean and Ham Soup
I thought this was pretty good. I followed the author's original recipe with the exception of adding chili powder (i've got really picky kids who can't stand any heat). One kid loved it and everyone else thought it was okay. I found the vegetable/tomato base to be stronger than I had anticipated based on other reviews and made it taste too much like vegetable soup instead of bean soup. If you really like the taste of vegetable soup, then this would be a great recipe to try.

Sausage Egg Casserole
My husband liked this more than I did. I made the recipe as called for. It was good. A little bland. Next time, I may add more cheese and maybe some green pepper. Overall, it was a good dish, but I think there are better egg/sausage casseroles out there than this one.
