I have just read  recipe that calls for pork stew meat.  I don't know just what that implies.  Beef stew meat is pretty common, but what makes up pork stew meat? MORE

A paradox
About this Cook
Iowa farm boy, former USAF pilot (Korean action), former Professor (Biology, Med. Tech.) Married, no kids. Love the computer. Love cats.
My favorite things to cook
Soups, ham casseroles, pastas, really good burger recipes. Shrimp.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother was a farm wife, a natural cook. She made wonderful fried chicken, and really great pies. She would take round steak, fry it in butter in a sizzling iron skillet, and serve it with its liquid over buttered toast. I haven't mastered that technique yet.
My cooking triumphs
A great hamburger soup.
My cooking tragedies
Allowing good steaks to overcook and turn to leather under a broiler.

Spicy Baked Sweet Potato Fries
But why do people say things like "six sweet potatoes"? They can be anywhere from finger size to huge. Try to suggest some sort of standard to go by, when you offer a recipe !

Mushrooms with a Soy Sauce Glaze
This was tasty and easy, but cooked down too much. I'll make it again, but using a full pound of mushrooms, even for two of us..

Slow Cooker Pork and Sauerkraut
Not as flavorful as I had expected, although I added Worcestershire and soy to pep it up. My wife liked it, and that's all that matters..
