French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2014
Very easy-to-follow recipe and the end result is yummy!!! Instead of milk I used heavy whipping cream because I wanted it to be a bit thicker and it came out perfect and with a little maple syrup on top…YUM! This is a keeper!!! Oh, I forgot, I left it overnight to set and before I put it in the oven I patted butter on top and sprinkled the sugar-cinammon mix on top.

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2012
I'm SO glad I didn't add the two cups of water required, it would've been too soupy. At least for my taste. As for the taste, it was pretty good. All I added that was extra was a can of corn and 1 1/2 Tb of red pepper flakes for a kick! Oh, and I didn't use ground turkey. I had some leftover turkey breast from last night's dinner and I used that instead. I prefer a chunkier, meatier, chili!

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
Overall the taste is delicious. The recipe was pretty simple and simple to follow. But I agree with a previous reviewer who said the cake tasted a little eggy and the whipped topping was too sweet. That's why I gave it a 4 instead of five. Next time I cut down on both. Just a bit to sweet for my taste but overall very good tres leches!

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2011
Delicious recipe!!! I substituted broccoli for the mushrooms and halved the recipe. Very creamy! The only regret I had was that instead of 1/2 lb of noodles I made a whole lb which ended up scucking up most of the sauce and drying out the entire dish a bit. Next time I'll go by what it says.

Chimichurri Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2011
Yummy! I replace the parsley with cilantro and since I didn't pepper sauce I replaced that with about a tsp of red pepper flakes. WOW is all I can say. I will be saving and making the sauce often, esp in summer with all the bbqing! Excellent recipe!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2011
OK so what I learned from this recipe is that you have to keep your eye on it constantly...which I didn't and it halfway burned. Besides that it rocked! I took the advice of the other posters and coated the chicken first, cooked it, removed it, and reduced the sauce. I put the chicken back in and and it coated beautifully! It got a bit watery again so I decided to give it 5 more minutes while I washed the dishes (yeah, I know, I know) and when I came back it was sure sticky all right...to the bottom of the pan. We ate it anyways and my husband still loved it, although he said he wished it wouldn't have burned. You can still taste the sweet and spicy and BOY was it good...and that's with it being burned. Can't imagine what the real thing tastes like. Can't wait to try again!

Roast Pork Loin Chop

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2011
Reading the previous reviews, I made my own adjustments and I agree that more seasoning needs to be added or it'll come out too bland. I brined it overnight and cooked it for 1 hr 20 minutes which was a bit too long. They came out OK but next time I will season just a bit more, brine overnight, and cook for a total of an hour and I think that'll do the trick.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2011
This recipe is SO easy and SO yummy! I put it together in the last minute and omitted the provolone and ground beef, doubled up on the mozzarella, and it came out DELICIOUS! I'm glad I read the previous review and covered it. It was so creamy. Can't wait to try it again with the beef...mmm!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
Wow, this really is a good recipe. YUM! I was sort of lax on the amounts, I used more peas, carrots, flour, butter, etc., and no celery or celery seed, and it came out awesome! I've never made CPP before but now it'll be on my menu for years to come.

It was very easy to make and had a good taste but I think I prefer an apple cake over an applesauce cake.
