Citrus Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
I've used this recipe (with a few additions) five times and I'm using it today to brine turkey for the holiday. My additions: I add 3 Tablespoons of liquid smoke which is a fabulous addition if you don't smoke your bird. I also add an equal amount of sugar to salt ratio which helps the bird brown beautifully and adds additional flavor. Fantastic receipe!

Chinese Chicken Salad II

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
This was an easy lunch salad to prepare and delicious! I took the advice of another reviewer and fried up some wonton skins in strips instead of the chow mein noodles and a touch of sesame oil in the dressing was the over the top finish. Frankly, this salad would be good with anything you had left in your fridge. Thanks Lea_b!

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
Great recipe and so economical! Rosarita refried beans are $1.99 at my local market so it's just the most money saving way to make my favorite beans and they are healthier too. Muchas Gracias!

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
I've made this 5 times over the past year and it always goes fast if I leave the bread sitting on the counter. Who can resist fresh hot bread.

Bread Machine Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
I made two pizzas using this dough and it was so easy to use my bread machine dough setting. A breeze and so much better tasting than a chain. Thanks for the recipe.

Great summer time thirst quencher and a good ratio of sugar to lemon juice. Perfect!

Toasted Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
Fantastic! This is the best garlic bread. I used the method of baking the bread in foil for 20 minutes and then topping with cheese and broiling for the last 3-4 minutes or so. Yummy!

Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
This is really good to brine a chicken. I omit the orange and I add 2-3 TB of liquid smoke to the water. It's fantastic and the bird only gets better after it's cooked. Thanks for such a good basic starting point.

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
This is good but I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter. I made half the recipe and could only eat one serving before I was done. Also, go easy on the chile paste if you decide to use it. the 2 teaspoons listed is quite hot.

Whole Egg Mayonnaise

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
I have one of those 3 cup cuisinart choppers with the oil holes in the lid and this was a breeze to make and the TASTE was amazing. I'm never buying $5 jars of mayo again. This is a great recipe and it saves money too.

Pot Stickers Traditional

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
These are the closest to restaurant quality you'll find. I didn't have fresh ginger but used powdered instead. I also added a bit of white pepper for heat. This is my new go to recipe. By the way these are good fried instead of steamed too.

Kung Pao Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
Great with any vegetables, chicken or any meat for that matter. Easy to scale and easy to increase heat level for those who love it. And as others have said in their reviews this is restaurant quality. I have made it 6 or 7 times in the last month and I'm addicted.

This was awesome! I'm a low carber so omitted the bun to cut the carbs and I have to say this is the best burger without a bun ever. Yummy!

Sesame Green Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
This was really good. I added garlic to the sesame seeds and soy sauce and sesame oil at the end to adjust the seasonings. I will make again and add other vegetables like carrots.

Hot Peanut Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2009
I'd give this 4.5 stars. This was really good as a coleslaw dressing on cabbage, red pepper, red onion, deep fried tofu cubes and garnished with crushed roasted peanuts. Yummy! I did make the sauce as specified and it was really good but I like spicy food so I added more cayenne, garlic and half a jalpeno pepper. Will make again!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

I tried this recipe and didn't tweak it at all and it was execellent. Better than any sauce on any commercial pizza I've ever had.
