Eggplant Tomato Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
We really liked this recipe, especially using fresh summer tomatoes and eggplant. What a wonderful dish! Even better the next day.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
YUMMY! I just made this for the second time in two weeks. It's really great. And YES - use Granny Smith's and not a sweet apple. (Although I threw in a couple of Honey Crisp because I had them on hand.) I eased up on the sugar just a bit because it can be very sweet - but oh wow - it is so, so good. Not alot of work for an excellent ending. YUM!

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
This was good - not as great as I expected. The flavor was good, but I think I'll try it again with a different cut of meat because it was still a little tough. Tasty in tortillas.

Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
I made these twice in two days. Yes - they went that fast. I added mushrooms the second day and it was great also. I agree that it would be great with bacon. Endless possibilities. The first batch I added some sharp cheddar and I think I will continue to do that because it really gave it a stronger flavor. This will be one of my 'go-to' party recipes! Thanks!

Broccoli Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2006
Not bad - it needed ALOT of extras to give flavor. I can't imagine how it would have tasted if I hadn't sauteed the chicken with LOTS of garlic and added garlic powder and ground pepper to the soup mix. I still found it sort of bland. I'll try again - with more seasonings and even more garlic.

Chocolate Zucchini Bread I

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2005
Wonderful - WONDERFUL! I made 6 loaves this weekend and will be making even more tonight. My husband adored it. I found that I really needed to grease the pans well for them to pop out easily.

Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2005
These were good - my family enjoyed them. I sprinkled some garlic powder and cumin to the chicken and let it sit for about an hour before dredging it in the batter. I just did it in a skillet, since I don't have a deep fryer, and they weren't real crispy, but good. I'll make again.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2005
This made a very tender roast! I did it in the slow cooker on Sunday, and took it out on Monday. Sliced the roast, covered it with the gravy and baked it covered in the oven until warm. I did add some minced onion, a couple of shakes of worchershire and some black pepper. Delish! Thanks!

I have to agree with everyone else. This was great! Only change was 1/2 Italian Sausage and 1/2 ground beef and a tablespoon of minced garlic and italian seasoning. WONDERFUL!

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2004
Very tasty marinade. It's too cold to grill here - so I just sauteed the shrimp until pink. Everyone enjoyed it - I'll make again.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2004
DELICIOUS! These are really great. I agree that they are a bit too much cream-cheesy, but still wonderful. I love the cayenne pepper bite! This does make much more than 12 mushrooms, in fact, I'm using the rest of the mix in mushrooms tonight. I sprinkled shredded parmesan on top before baking. DIVINE!

Hot Bean Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2004
Really great dip. I added more drops of Tabasco - but wish I had added more drops and the entire package of taco seasoning - we like spicy!

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2004
Yummy, yummy good! I was afraid to try this (my first attempt with a different recipe was a disaster), but I was very pleased with the results. My husband kept thanking me over and over for making one of his favorite meals. I too added more milk. Gravy... mmmmm....

Yummy Yam Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2003
Five Stars? YOU BET! This was fantastic. Readers: you are going to get tired of reading people saying, "I don't even like sweet potatoes/yams, but I LOVED this!" Because it's TRUE! I've never seen my mom eat yams and she ate more helpings than anyone else. This is an absolute keeper. Wonderful recipe, thanks so much!

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2003
I have to agree with everyone else - this is a wonderful soup! So incredibly rich. I added some corn (just cause I like it), eased up on the tarragon and didn't puree any of the soup. I thought it was plenty thick enough. My husband and stepson both said this is a soup we have to have often. Quite a compliment from these guys. It was a little time-consuming, but worth it. Thanks for the recipe.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2003
BRAVO! I scaled this down for 10 servings, but only two people showed up making our dinner party a total of four. We have MAYBE 3 servings left. These potatoes are incredible. Other reviewers suggested roasting the garlic, which I did. That gave it a wonderful taste. I also added some milk to thin them out. My husband didn't care for the first taste and smell, but I think he wasn't used to the romano and garlic. Later when I served it - he raved about them along with our friends who made several trips back to get more. I will certainly make these again!

Bill's Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2003
I have never made good gravy - finally I did with this recipe. I also didn't use the maple sausage - I prefer Jimmy Deans Sage Sausage. I added more milk to make it more soupy and cooked it longer to thicken it up. I like lots of the gravy and a little less of the sausage. My husband and stepson really like it alot. This is now my one and only sausage gravy recipe. Thanks!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

These were good - a bit bland. Maybe some garlic powder in the cheese sauce. I did like them though and will make again... with a few additions.

Grilled Asian Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2002
This marinade was such a hit! My boyfriend and his son declared it the best chicken they ever had. He said it put his own grilled chicken to shame (and his is really good!). We liked it so much that I made it again the very next night with pork chops. Still very good - but I think I liked it with chicken better. I will make this again and again.
