About this Cook
I live in a small town in Kansas with my husband and 3 month old baby girl. Before I had the baby, I cooked all the time, but now it's hard to find time so I'm interested in all the wonderful quick, easy dinner ideas out there. Any tips from other busy moms would also be greatly appreciated!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake anything and everything. Cakes are my favorite but I wish I was better at decorating them! I am considering going back to school to become a pastry chef.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandparents own a turkey farm, so we always fry our turkies for Thanksgiving, now I can hardly eat turkey any other way!
My cooking triumphs
The first time I tried to make my Aunt Christy's Potato Casserole, a legendary dish in our family, and they turned out just like hers! Of course it took many failed attempts first.
My cooking tragedies
The failed attempts mentioned above, also the first time I ever made dinner for my husband, I made spaghetti and garlic bread but I burned the garlic bread and found out later that he hates spaghetti!

Hoagie Bake
Loved this sooo much! I used refrigerated pizza dough and followed other reviewers suggestions and microwaved the salami and pepperoni to get some of the grease out. I also added some creamy italian dressing and used mozzarella instead of provolone. Will make this often!

Shepherd's Pie
This was very good and very easy to make. Hubby loved it! I did add about 1/4 c. sour cream to the meat mixture and left out the ketchup, but other than that followed the recipe exactly. This will become a regular in our house!
