Spiced Pumpkin Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2010
I had a terrible experience making fudge once but felt this sounded interesting enough to try again. I was a little worried when I realized you needed to cook it to soft ball stage, I never even try recipies that call for this but I had bought all the ingredients so gave it a go. I do not have a candy thermometer so I just cooked it for 12 minutes and prayed. I used mini marshmallows(one Bag) and that was the only changes to the recipie. Delicious and it came out great! I did use almonds only because I had some left over from another recipie and nuts are expensive, especially pecans. I will try it with pecans next time. The only thing I'd like to know is how to cut it so it comes out prettier for giving away. Mine cracked the tops during cutting. Other than that, delicious and worth the work.

Glazed Almond Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2010
I was looking for a cake recipie for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I had to make it twice. Please grease your bundt pan generously with butter first. My first cake stuck and was ruined, however my kids agreed that it was delicious and that was before the glaze. I did feel the first was a little dry so here is what I did for the second. I did not change the cake recipie at all, I hate when people rate a recipie they change first. The cake only needed about 45 minutes. When it was removed from the oven I immediately poked holes and poured some glaze on the bottom, while still piping hot. I unmolded the cake and drizzled remaining glaze over the top and topped with chopped almonds. I did make a different glaze only because I prefer to use powdered sugar. You need about a cup and a half of sugar and a couple T of milk. I also added some almond extract. Yum

Amish Yumazuti

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
Just okay. Very bland. You definitely need to add more moisture, I added an extra can of soup and is was still not overly moist. The noodles to get crunchy on top and I mixed everything together instead of layering. Maybe put foil over top for most of cooking. Won't make again.

Wedding Cake Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
This was a good frosting and I will make again. I gave it four stars because it was initially way to soft for decorating. After refridgeration it was a good consistancy. I halved the recipie and maybe I should add the milk a little at a time. I also think it needed more vanilla. I will make again with those changes because it was a very good amount for decorating.

Oh my! I've found my from scratch chocolate cake recipie. So delicious I loved it. Super moist and not overly sweet. The only problem is I used two bowls!LOL I will make again and again. I made homemade butter cream icing from the site. Simple to make and soooo good!

Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
Holy Heck! Way too spicy for me. I was a bit dumb when it came to the peppers. Next time I will leave them out. I will definitely keep the recipie because it is super healthy and great to throw on salads and veggie burgers. I would have given 5 stars but my mouth is still burning.

Decorator Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
Came out awesome. I used it with the Best Rolled Sugar Cookies Recipie. No white streaks in frosting as someone else stated. I used regular food color and made orange and purple, beautiful. I added a wee bit more milk. Not grainy at all and dries hard for stacking. Of course it's sweet, it's supposed to be it's frosting. Will make again!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
Yum, Yum, Yummy! This recipie was so easy. I followed it exactly and they truned out great. We made Halloween Cookies and used the Decorator Frosting recipie to add color. We made about two dozen and I still have half the dough in the fridge. You get your moneys worth. Keep dough chilled as your using it, place back in fridge in between time. I rolled on parchment paper sprinkled with powdered sugar and not flour. Adds falvor. Mine took about ten minutes to bake.

Turkey Bake with Whole Wheat Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
Yum, yum, yummy. My family loved it. All three kids had second helpings, which is highly rare. I made a small change because I hate when people completely change a recipie and then rate it. I added some italian herb season to the turkey as I cooked it. Only becuase I'm not a fan of plain ground turkey. Everything else the same and it was so good. The only problem I had is that it did not heat through enough. Next time I will crank the heat up to 350 and cook for 35-40 minutes. Also, definitely cover with foil. Ours was a little dry on top.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
Had it tonight for dinner and it was delish. My husband ate three! We love BBQ and this recipie is a keeper. I will only do one thing differently next time and that is omit the brown sugar. I used Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and it is sweet enough on its own. I made the chicken the day before. I cooked off a small fryer chicken and removed the meat from the bone. We needed something quick tonight so, I just threw the chicken in the crock pot two hours before we needed to eat put the wet ingredients on top and walked away. A keeper. Only four stars because of the sweetness factor.

Stir-Fried Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
Super easy. I only did one thing different. I added cooked pork loin that was left over. I did not take anything out of the pan. I just pused things to the side as needed. my family, including picky children gobbled it down. I would add an extra egg next time.

Aunt Ro's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
Awesome. I made it exactly how the recipie called, only reducing the sugar by half. I used a sweeter BBQ sauce and didn't want it overly sweet. So, good. This will be my recipie from now on.

Barbecued Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
I made it exactly the way the recipie called for. First, of all the sauce is practically water with a very weird flavour combination. I had to keep adding bottled BBQ sauce to thicken, a waste of time and money.

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
My husband told me they are so good, he loves them. That's unusual because he's very picky. I only changed one thing: added 1/2 cup fat free milk and 3/4 cups applesauce to replace the oil. Also, threw in a little flax meal for a health boost. They're really yummy with fresh bluberries and not too sweet.

Yummy and very, very quick! I added some carmalized onion before putting on the cheese! Very good. Also, used Campbell's beef broth and it was rich and did not need any other seasonings.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
I'm not sure why everyone is saying it takes so much time. I literally chopped everything in less then 10 minutes. I made the chips in no time either. The most time consuming thing is actually baking the chips. Easy as can be and delicious. I agree about the chips though, make lots they are so good. I used raspberry preserves and think I'll choose something else next time. Mine was good to me, but possible a little tart for some.
