Sirloin Steak with Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
I have been making this recipe for years. The only difference is I grill a London Broil and slice it really thin. I then put the slices over a piece of toasted french and top with some of the garlic butter. So yummy!

Rubbed and Grilled Pork Loin

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
Good Recipe...Thank you! I did sub garlic powder for garlic salt. Seasoned and refrigerated for 30 min. Seared on the stove then put on the BBQ. I used sour cream, honeymustard dressing, chipolte peppers & sauce and chipolte seasoning to make a dipping sauce. Was a big hit with everyone.

End of the Line Ham Casserole

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
This was so good! I doubled the recipe. I used baby white and red potatoes. I sauteed the onion and that added so much flavor. I also added a can of corn. I used cheddar cheese because thats what I had on hand (I added it on top the last 30 minutes). This is a very versatile recipe. My husband loved it!!! Thanks for a great dish.

Sausage-Stuffed Eggplant

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
Thanks for the great recipe. I probably would have given it 5 stars if I had followed the recipe. I made the healthy version. I did as some of the other reviewers and used the low fat cheese. I did sub the sausage with ground turkey and seasoned it with garlic salt, red pepper and cayane pepper. I also sauteed a bit of red onion and red peppers with the turkey. It was very good. My husband loved it and ate half of the dish himself. My 4 year-old son had 2 helpings. To me it was lacking some spice in the meat.....which is my fault not the recipes.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
I have been making this way for years. I add the standard vegetables to it and it is great. Can't get any easier than this and it comes out fine any time no matter what the size of the roast.

Turkey in a Bag

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
I have been using the oven browning bag for years and have NEVER had a bad turkey. I do brush the top of the turkey with oil first. I have never used the celery or onion so maybe I will try that tomorrow.

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
I know that this was rated really good by a lot of people but it didn't suit my taste. Chilli powder was too strong, should have been left out completely. I had to add rosemary, celery salt, garlic, 2 onions and some left over pork roast to make it edible. In the end it came out well. I always appreciate trying new recipes but for me this one was not a winner.

Hearty Mince

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
My family enjoyed this recipe. I didn't have tomato juice so I used 1 small can tomato sauce and 1-1/2 cans beef broth. I left out the water. At the end I added some of the Mexican blend cheese. An easy recipe on a busy night. Thanks

Candied Garlic Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
This was a really good recipe despite some of the negative reviews. Candied Wings..hello, it is going to be sweet. After reading the reviews I decided to double the sauce recipe but only used 1-1/2 cups of honey. After tasting it I did add the vinager, cayene and red pepper flakes. I also decided to put an asian twist on it so I added 1/4 cup of red curry paste and the sauce was great! It is 100 degrees today so I cooked sliced boneless-skinless breasts for 4 hours in the crock pot using 1/2 the sauce and reserving the other half to serve over chicken and jasmine rice. this is a great recipe and everyone can tweak it to their taste and sweetness. Thanks Vickee

Manicotti Italian Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
I have made this dish many times but found a way to take out about half the fat without taking away from the great recipe. Sub ground turkey for the ground beef. Sub turkey sausage for the regular sausage. Mix in non-fat cottage cheese instead of the mozzarella or ricota. Use some mozzarella only to top the dish. Easy, fast and a healthy alternative to a great dish. It also freezes well.

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2009
This was really good. I tried it a couple of different ways. Flour, egg & seasoned bread crumbs, flour & egg but the best was mixing the flour and bread crumbs and then dipping in egg and re-coating in crumb mixture. It was really good and the chicken was soooo moist. I seasoned the flour/breadcrumb mixture with garlic powder and seasoning salt. A big hit with the family. Thanks for the recipe.

Beer Butt Rosemary Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
AWESOME!!!!! This is the best chicken ever! You can get the stand for a couple of bucks at the local grocery. I was in a hurry this time and just cooked on a broiler pan in the oven and cooked veggies separately. Came out great. This is a huge hit every time I make it. With the left overs, I take the carcass and boil. Remove bones etc.. it makes a great soup with some added noodles and seasoning. This last time I froze the soup and when the weather cools down it will be an easy dinner to thaw and add some simple dumplings for a hearty Chicken and Dumplings dinner. This is a true winner and can easily be a 2 in 1 meal.

Bean with Bacon

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
I made this soup and it was excellent. I used one large red onion instead of two and only added a couple slices of bacon. I had leftover ham so I cubed up that and put it in. My husband loved it. I also used the great northern beans because I had a bag on hand.
