Chocolate Chip Orange Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2002
First of all this is my favorite site. I love the recipe reviews that are posted. If it wasn't for the reviews on the zucchini chocolate chip orange bread I would never have tried this recipe. This is by far the best zucchini bread I have ever made. The texture and taste are excellent. I couldn't imagine chocolate chips in zucchini bread but that is what is so good. Fabulous recipe. I would make this often. Thank you.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2002
OH MY GOSH! These cookies are the tasting cookie ever. I was concerned they were too gooey after 10 minutes of baking but I let them cool slightly before removing them from the pan. They turned out perfect. I wouldn't change a thing in this recipe. I difinately will make them again and again and again. You have to try these!

Homemade Refrigerator Pickles

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2002
This is a very good recipe. The only difference I did was add a teaspoon of celery seed and a tablespoon of mustard seed. I also made a recipe and a half of the vinegar, sugar and salt mixture. I like more liquid in mine. This was very easy to make. Thanks for the recipe.

D's Famous Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2002
Wonderful tasting salsa. I did do a few changes in the recipe. I used Mexican stewed tomatoes, fresh jalapeno's, lemon juice in place of lime, lots of cilantro and added about a teaspoon of chili powder to mine. All our favorite Mexican restaurants tell us to use the chili powder. Thanks for the recipe.

Peach Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2002
What a wonderful recipe! I did use mashed fresh peaches and the rest of the recipe I followed exactly as stated. The texture of this bread is excellent. This bread is not too sweet or too spicy. It is perfect. Other then using fresh peaches I would not change a thing.

Easy Potato Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2002
A diffinate 5 star recipe. I did make a few changes by sauting celery with the onion. I did not have potato flakes so grated a raw potato and put it in with the cubed potatoes. I used Hillshire kielbasa which the taste did not over power the rest of the ingredients. The results were super. Oh, I made a little white sauce using melted margarine, flour and adding a little cream. I needed a little thickener since I had no potato flakes. This recipe is now one of our favorite soups. Thanks.

Luscious Slush Punch

Another 5 star recipe. I couldn't imagine Jell-o in a punch but with all the good reviews I tried it. Wonderful! Wonderful punch! I got praises galore and had to give out the recipe. I will replace this punch recipe with the one I usually make. Thanks.

Southern Butternut Squash

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2003
5 star recipe! Absolutely wonderful! The only thing I didn't know if it was to be served cold as a dessert or hot as a side dish. I baked mine a few hours ahead of time so it was just warm when serve as a side dish. YUM! Every one of the dinner guests made a comment how good it was and asked for the recipe. I was a little leary about the topping that goes on the top but it is a must. The guest loved the topping. I did cut down on the sugar as suggested by other reviewers and I did have to bake mine at least an extra half hour or more. The end results were great. Thanks for the recipe. This recipe goes in my recipe file as a keeper.

I was looking for easy recipes to make and yet very good. This one is wonderful and really keeps it shape for a few days. I did not have grapes so just kept them out. It was very good anyway. I will be making this recipe again this weekend for our family reunion. Thank you so much for sharing it.

Raw Vegetable Salad

YUM! What a wonderful recipe this is. I was a little apprehensive on the raw peanuts but I think that is a must. This recipe can be made a couple days ahead of time and it still is great. I love recipes that can be prepared ahead of time and still taste great. I will be making this again this week for our reunion.

Layered Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2004
This recipe is very similar to mine. I put a layer of chopped celery over the lettuce layer and I use chopped green onion instead of a regular onion. After the mayonnaise layer I put a big layer of grated Parmesion cheese, then I crumble 6 eggs over that and slice 2 tomatoes over the eggs and sprinkle real bacon bits over. I do not use season salt just 2 cups mayonnaise and 1/8 tsp. garlic powder. Very good.

Salmon with Dill

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2005
I am not a salmon eater but my husband caught a 55 pound salmon so I just took a big chunk of it, and tried this recipe. I didn't even measure the seasonings but sprinkled them on both sides of the salmon and added as much dabs of margarine that would cover the salmon. Baked it 400 for 20 minutes and turned the oven off until we were ready to eat. This was the best salmon I had ever eaten. It was so moist and flavorful. Thank you for this simple recipe. I will use it often.

Rhubarb Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2005
What a wonderful recipe. In just the past two weeks I've made it twice. Everytime people commented on how good it was and asked for the recipe. People could not believe it was rhubarb cake. I did do one thing different. After baking the cake according to the recipe, I made a the following frosting like my mom always did. Combine 6 Tbsp. melted butter, 2/3 cup brown sugar. 1/4 cup cream, 1 cup coconut and 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Spread on cake. Brown lightly under broiler. Thanks for the recipe.

Snowballs II

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2005
My recipe for these cookies is very similar but after 40 years of using mine, I am switching to this recipe. These were by far the best I have ever eaten. The buttery taste of real butter is so much better than the margarine I have been using. Thank you so much for this recipe. It's a keeper.
