I canned the applesauce, so I make these changes to the recipe... I cut up about 13 apples, whole-no peeling. I quarter them and throw them in a large pot with 1/2 cup of water and 1 1/2 Tsp cinnamon. Cover and cook them until they are broken down. Next I laddle the apples into a food mill that seperates the skins/seeds/stems from the apple. I then laddle the applesauce in to cans and process them for 20 mins in a canner. Super easy and sooooo much bought.
