Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2012
Didn't even use the marsala wine, subbed in mirin (sweetend saki cooking wine), and I threw in some squash and zucchini with big portobellos cut into strips, served it over rice. Might be the first time I didn't have to tack another 20 minutes to prep time. Served it over rice.

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: May 30, 2011
Solid. I added a tablespoon of minced garlic. I think think that the fact you can add the spices that work for you without ruining dough makes this worthy of a five. True enough you can make different crusts, but who knows they will be craving some pizza the day before, or even several hours?

Peach Cobbler II

Read a bunch of comments. 1 cup of sugar on 6 peaches, 1 cup of water. Yup, thats the way to go all right.

Holy Shamoligans! Diebetic shock aside, these puppies were awersome. Like the real deal.

Jalapeno Poppers I

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2010
Great fun to make, we had something of an assembly line going. I blanced, cut, and stuffed while my wife breaded and, well, you know, stuffed when I was going too slow. Went well at a party we attended. Our Jalapeno peppers were kinda duds, we even kept seeds to mix in the spread. Eh, still tasted good, on that note even kids got to try them.

Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
I read some of the posts about the stuffing being bland, and opted to mix in a small can of tomatoes and green chilies. Turned out to be a good call. Also it was my first time stuffing peppers, I was thinking there would be juices leaking out of the peppers to baste with, not so. Save out some sauce to spoon over for the basting.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2009
I had to look up what a spring pan was, turns out it is the wierd pan thing that opens. Follow the recipe and it works out to taste better than the stuff you get while out. I had some lumps of cream cheese I was worried about, but I was more worried about over handling (warning from another reviewer), so I left them alone, they must have melted or something, as I didn't notice any lumps in the finished product. Also I only let it cool for about 3 1/2 hours in the oven before I even opened the door, and gave it the boot 30 minutes later. I made sure it had seperated from the sides and then put it in the fridge, I'm not saying it is a good idea, but in this case it didn't hurt anything and it was ready for dinner.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
Came out great. I had some herbs growing in the yard so I used them instead of the dried stuff. I 86'd the fennel seeds, my herb collection isn't all that, but I'm not going to improve the collection much with a $5.50 so I went without. I don't even know what fennel seeds taste like to know if I missed anything.

Miracle Baking Powder Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
New to cooking more than the box dinners. My wife showed me the value of using level scoops in the measure spoons. With the power of level scoops and of course literacy enableing me to follow directions allowed me to make a crust for apple pie that was off the chain! Flakey and tastey. Thanks
