About this Cook
I am a 24 year old female from Wilmington, DE. Since no one taught me how to cook growing up, I am just starting out. However, I've been teaching myself to bake for a few years now and am absolutely smitten with it! My other hobbies include playing video games, reading, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.
My favorite things to cook
Cookies! I love making all types of cookies, but am most "famous" for my chocolate chip pumpkin cookies. As for cakes, I am a new Red Velvet Cake convert (the trick is to use marscarpone cheese instead of butter in the icing!)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making giant cupcake cakes for Birthdays!
My cooking triumphs
Making fondant for the first time and using it make a Spongebob sheet cake for my nephew's birthday... everyone thought it was store-bought!
My cooking tragedies
Badly burnt lamb... twice. I have yet to figure out how to cook this stuff! Using about 5x the amount of vinegar necessary for Red Velvet Cake and ending up with a cake that smelled horribly of vinegar.

Golden Chicken Tenders
This recipe deserves 5 stars with a few changes. I used boneless/skinless chicken thigh (what I had on hand); chopped and cooked with some lemon pepper and garlic powder, then combined with 1 can cream of mushroom soup. Layered the dish first with a bag of frozen veggies, then the chicken/soup mixture, then a box of stuffing (mixed with water and butter) on top. Cooked covered for ~30 minutes, then uncovered for 10. Delish!

Quick Quiche
I have never made any type of quiche before so I was a bit wary, but this came out great! Only alteration was to use complete pancake batter instead of flour, since that's what I had on hand. Next time I will make a double batch in a 9x13 because this quiche was quickly devoured by just 2 people!

Chicken Pot Pie IX
5 stars with modifications - added 1 tspn poultry seasoning, 1/2 tspn black pepper (instead of 1/4), 1/2 tspn garlic powder to the gravy filling. I also cooked the chicken & veggies in chicken broth and used that to double the gravy filling. Omitted celery seed as I didn't have any. Used 2 lbs chicken since that's what I had already defrosted. My pie was done in 20 minutes but that just might be my oven... it was delicious! (Note to other novice cooks - wrap the edge of your pie in aluminum foil to prevent it from burning)
