Creamy Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
I had already made the milk/flour mixture with the stated amounts, when I decided to only use 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup sugar, because I only had a sheet cake to frost; but came out very good and fluffy and good tasting. Sweet enough for my taste.

Cranberry Coffee Cake Recipe - Food.com - 43340

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
Nice and moist cake. Used my own cranberry sauce, made with 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar and 1 1/2 cup cranberries. Added 1 tsp. vanilla, but otherwise as written. Baked ca. 10 minutes longer, because I used a shiny tube pan.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
Very nice loafs of white bread. Used only 1/4 cup sugar, and added 5 tbsp. gluten. Used only 5 cups of the flour to mix, and used some of the 6th cup in the kneading process. I think all 6 cups of flour would have been too much for the amount of water. The dough was wonderfully soft and a pleasure to work with, and the end product turned out just as soft and fluffy. Don't forget to put a shallow pan of water on the bottom rack of the oven while baking. My 3 guys pretty much devoured one of the loaves with dinner.

Grandma's Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
WOW, at first I was not sure if I should add it to my recipe box, but one taste convinced me. The cloves definitely set it off; I did not measure exactly, just to taste and also added paprika, and chopped jalapeños, since we like it hot :)

Robbi's M&M Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
Excellent cookie recipe; came out perfect with half butter and half butter flavor Crisco. Since I did not have enough m & m's, I substituted the rest with Reeces Pieces, and that added another dimension to the taste. Not too runny and not too stiff, they look like the store bought cookies, but soooo much better.

As per other reviewers, I reduced the milk, too. Came out very good. Next time I will definitely double the amount, as these go very quick. Just the right taste ! mmmmm good!

Swedish Nut Bars

I agree with other reviewers, pretty tasty and yummy. Used a 13 x 9 pan, and that was just the right height in my opinion. I bet they will be even better tomorrow.

Butter Honey Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2010
Very good bread. I doubled the recipe and made in my kitchen center. Added 3 tbsp. gluten and 4 tbsp. ground flaxseed to the doubled amounts. It made 2 nice large hand shaped loaves. I put 2 cups water directly on bottom of oven during baking.

Made with homemade graham crackers from this site. Really neat idea and it's fast. Besides the mini chocolate chips, I also added some toffee bits.

It does need just a little bit more milk. Next time I will try adding some cocoa to make chocolate graham crackers.

Peasant Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2010
I doubled the recipe and added just a couple of teaspoons of shortening and 3 tablespoons of ground flax seed. Made with my kitchen center dough hooks and finished by hand. Do not let rise too long (over 40 minutes) just before baking. Add some water directly onto the bottom of the oven before turning the oven on, and watch them swell up while baking! The steam keeps the bread moist and lets it rise.

Popovers

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2010
Definitely by far the fastest and easiest breakfast or anytime rolls/bread. Followed recipe ingredients as written, but baked on 450 degrees for 15 min., and 350 degrees for 15 min.. I think next time I will let them bake at 450 for just a couple of minutes longer, as some of them were just a touch too moist on the inside. BTW I used a large muffin tin. But great easy recipe, and can be topped with just about anything. (Had one of mine with butter and goat cheese, mmm...) Thanks for the recipe Christy!

Mmm Mmm good! Per other reviewers changed oil to 1/2 cup, and only 1 cup of sugar (I don't like it too sweet). Baked 12 minutes. Otherwise as written. Came out very good and great easy recipe.

Very good and easy basic muffin recipe. For added flavor I add 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. almond extract, (so far I always topped with my homemade pear jam); otherwise as written, and my whole family approves.

Lemon Bars I

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
I doubled the recipe, let's face it, 8 x 8 is just not enough for a family of 4. Cut the sugar in the doubled lemon mixture to 1 1/2 cups and just used 2 lemons for zest and juice. Came out very good and EASY!

Wheat Bread with Flax Seed

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
After reading the previous reviews, I also made just a few adjustments. Added another 1/4 cup bread flour and added 1 additional tablespoon gluten. Came out wonderful!...great taste and consistency, nice crunchy crust and soft, springy inside. Made in bread machine. I put flax seed in my breads before, just not this much. Was pleasantly surprised with this recipe and the healthfulness. Found my new bread recipe!

White Chip Chocolate Cookies

Absolutely delicious!, but made with the suggested changes in sugar (2/3 c brown sugar, and 2/3 c white sugar) instead the 2 cups white sugar. Very chocolaty and not too sweet.
