Asian Coconut Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2014
So good! Tastes great on it's own or with any Asian or Indian dish. I use medium grain rice for mine, it has a nice sticky texture.

Chicken Saag

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2014
Great recipe! I didn't have sour cream, so I subbed in yogurt, and I replaced the turmeric and cardamom I didn't have with curry powder. Tastes just like the chicken saag at my favorite Indian restaurant!

Best Ever Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
Easy for a beginner like me! Just keep things cold. The salty/savoriness of the crust is great with apple and chocolate chess pies so far!

Chocolate Chess Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
Holy chocolate! It's good! I've made it according to the recipe, and also made it with water and buttermilk powder in place of evaporated milk and margarine in place of butter. It's great with the "Best Ever Pie Crust"

Seven Spiced Shark Steaks

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
Not bad, but not great either. I was very disappointed that the rub/marinade completely masked the flavor of the shark. I felt like I was eating a chicken breast. Next time, I plan on decreasing the amount of spices by at least half, and increasing the liquid (possibly with orange juice or red wine vinegar) to make it more of a true marinade. Also, I found the cook time to be too long, but that may have been because my shark was cut about 1" thick.

Vicki's Hush Puppies

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
I grated the onion, as was suggested by other reviewers, and it was still way too dry. Adding 1/2 cup of milk really helped, although it could be a personal preference issue (I prefer hush puppies made with batter that approaches a thick pancake batter).

Cannoli

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
Great recipe! I didn't have some of the ingredients, but still wanted to try it, and I'm glad I did! I used orange juice instead of the wine and vinegar, and on the filling I left out the citron and added vanilla and almond extract. I rolled out the dough to 1/8" with a rolling pin and sliced it into small chips to fry. Served a few chips with a dollop of filling and sliced strawberries in a sundae glass. It was great! Looking forward to trying again with the wine.
