Guinness® and Chocolate Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
WOWZA!!!! this was amazing and not a bite left the next day!! I had to rate this to help knock this recipe back in the 5 star category. It seems like the people who rated this poorly had problems with the consistnecy of the cheesecake. I am not sure if this was due to error on their part or not, but I made this almost identical to the recipe and it was perfect. I made 2 minor changes. I only used 1/2 cup of guinness because previous ratings said it was too runny. I think if I had used 3/4 cup it would have been just fine however!! I also baked closer to an hour. After it baked, I left it in the oven for approx 30 minutes with the door ajar and then put in the fridge for 4 hours. It set up perfectly!! I to put a pan of water on the rack below instread of a waterbath. I decorated with crushed snickers and chocolate chips and served with cool whip and ice cream...HOLY MOLY!! It was to die for!! I encourage those who rated it poorly to try again!!

Dutch Almond Boterkoek

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
These are very good!! I love almond flavoring so they were right up my alley. I halved the batch and made a small pan and cooked them for about 25 minutes and they were perfect. I had made a regular batch prior and followed the instructions of others and cooked them for 30 and to me they were too done. They came out of the oven looking perfect, but after they cooled they hardened up a bit....still good though! Next time I make them I am going to double the batch and make them in a bigger pan so I get a thicker bar. I think it is going to take a few tries to figure out the perfect temp and perfect pan, but the recipe is spot on!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
I think that if you don't rate theses with 5 stars then you did something wrong with the preparing or baking! They are a sweets lovers dream come true...I went the lazy route and did store bought cookie dough...I bought 2 packs of the 12 large cookies and froze them and they were awesome. I also used chocolate cake mix and vanilla frosting. I think putting them in the refrigerator once they have cooled a little is the way to go. That way the cookie dough sets up again....18 minutes....FABULOUS!!

Disappearing Marshmallow Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2010
These were awesome!! Sent them to my boyfriend overseas and the troops ate them up...and since they are so moist and chewy...they lasted the 6 day trip in a ziplock and he said they were still delicious!I baked these right at 20 minutes and I ended up cutting the edges off (I don't like the edges anyways!) so next time I will do 18 and I think they will be perfect!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
There were none of these left at the party I took them two. They do truly only take 8-9 minutes. They may not look like they are done but they are definitely not a cookie that you want to over due. They were soft and chewy...perfection!!

AMAZING!! This was my cheesecake first cheesecake. I followed other users advice about letting it cool in the oven for an hour after baking. This prevents cracks in the cheesecake. Turned out perfect...will definietely make again!!

Quinoa and Black Beans

This was my first time cooking with quinoa and it won't be the last. This is a great and easy recipe. I added mushrooms and diced tomatoes to mine but otherwise followed exactly. The fresh cilantro was a great addition. This one is saved to my recipe box for sure!!

Lentil Soup

loved it! A very healthy and delicious recipe. I didn't use all the oil called for and I also added mushrooms to the mix. You do have to season it to your liking. I never measure out seasonings. Just add until it tastes good to me!!

I really enjoyed this recipe. I have never had spaghetti squash and was pleasantly surprised. I added yellow peppers and mushrooms to the recipe. Excellent!! I would recommend draining the squash really good after cooking. Got kind of watery!

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
These were very good veggie burgers! Definitely better than the kind you get at the store. I added corn and a touch of brown sugar to mine. I used regular bread crumbs but also added some Ritz for flavor. Followed others advice and drained my veggies and beans thoroughly and also froze them before placing on the grill. Next time I will add rice to add more dimension, but will definitely make these again!!

Low-Fat Blueberry Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
Loved this recipe! It is a great healthy alternative to regular muffins which are delicious, but pack the calories. I followed the recipe except for I too used 1 tsp of vanilla and I used only whole wheat flour. I was also running a little low on milk, so for the small amount I lacked a used a scoop of vanilla yogurt that I had. I read that yogurt adds more moisture which these definitely did not lack!
