The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
I made these as written, except for the addition of a little lemon zest and they were delicious!

Yogurt Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2011
This was a great cake! I did however make a few changes to make it to my liking. I used real butter, vanilla fat-free yogurt, almond extract, and added a glaze on top of powdered sugar, milk, and a little more almond extract. I also topped it with some slivered almonds that I toasted in a pan. Delicious! (Oh, and I also only baked it for about 52 minutes, not 60.)

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
These besically tasted like a cupcake DROWN in butter. I tasted just a plain muffin before dipping it in the butter and then cinnamon/sugar and it tasted great, but if I ever make these again, I will only brush the tops with butter and then just dip the top in cinnamon/sugar. The butter just made this way too rich and oily. An overall great concept, just needs a little tweaking.

Whole Wheat and Nuts Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
These muffins were good for being entirely fat-free. (I used skim-milk and omitted the nuts) The only complaint I have is that they were a bit chewey, which I assume is from the yogurt. But again, they were very good and next time I think I will add cinnamon, allspice and cloves to make them "spice muffins".

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
Absloutley delicious! I followed the recipe for the most part, but the only small changes i made were; one- I boiled the chicken and veggies in water with one boullion cube added (as suggested by other reviewers) and two- I omitted the celery seed and put in about a tsp. of poultry seasoning and a 1/2 tsp. garlic powder. Again, this was the best chicken pot pie I have ever had/made!

Wonton Wrappers

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
I made these tonight for crab rangoons. They tasted delicious! The only bad thing I have to say about this recipe is that, by hand, it is pretty difficult to roll them out to the thin sheet that they are supposed to be. Other then that, they fried up great, and I can imagine that they would be great for anything else that calls for wonton wrappers. One tip that I do have is to not stack them on top of one another (Even with flour in between each one). Believe me, they will stick. Luckily, I didn't stack them all so most of them came out perfect. :-]

Crusty White Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
I really liked this bread recipe, however it tastes just a bit bland. I think it would be better as a whole wheat bread, but that's just my opinion. I think this recipe is also a good one for people who are just begining to learn to bake bread. I have been for a while now and found this to be one of the simpler ones i've tried.

Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
This quiche was very good, I did however make a few changes. I used just the basic pie crust recipe, and put in cheddar cheese (I didn't measure this, so i'm assuming it was more than 1 and 1/2 cups.) I used canadian bacon (no ham) and a little finley chopped vidallia onion. I also omitted the dry mustard. One thing I will change next time i make this is the amunt of egg/milk mixture. I believe it definitely needs at least one more egg and a little more milk. (This is probably due to the fact that I used a deep dish pie plate, so if you are using a regular pie plate, then i'm sure you wont have a problem :]) Otherwise, this was a great basic quiche recipe.

Delightful Apple Spice Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
For these muffins, I followed the recipe except for a few things. I used 1/3 cup white sugar, and 1/3 cup dark brown sugar. I also used salted butter and not margarine. Another thing, is that the recipe only made 12 muffins not 16, and i had to bake for about 20 minutes not 17. With these changes, the muffins were delicious! I would most definetly make them again.

Herbed Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2010
I loved this soup. All i added was a little less than a 1/4 of a cup of parm. cheese. i thought it added little more flavor, it definetly isn't necessary though. I most definetly will make it again.
