Irish Boxty

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
Very good. Made this for lunch with leftover St. Patrick's day potatoes. I put a little sour cream and salsa on top and ended up with a very full belly! Will make this again for sure.

Nana Dot's Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
I love you Nana Dot! This was OUTSTANDING. The only changes I made were: no carway seeds (it was optional anyway) and I did not have any currants so I used craisins along with the raisins. Excellent!

Corned Beef and Cabbage I

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
Very good, simple and the way I have always made it. I do alter the cooking time a little. I let the meat simmer basically all day. I add all the veggies about 3 hours before I will be serving dinner. Always perfect.

Banana Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2010
Ok. I agree with some past reviewers that there is something missing? I used 1C whole wheat flour and 1C white flour and 2 whole eggs instead of 4 whites. Tastes very healthy and flavor isn't bad but I may add just a bit of oil or even butter with maybe some honey if I make these again. Thanks for the recipe though, I needed to use up a few bananas!

Whoopie Pies

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
Easy, but I could not get the cookies to set well. I ended up using an embossed mini cake pan and then cutting the cakes in half to fill them. They taste great and ended up looking super cute. Unfortunately I am only giving 3 stars because the original cooking method did not work so well for me.

Baked Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
What a fabulous alternative to the usually fried version. Everyone in my family was happy, even my daughter who does not like her food too spicy. They have the perfect flavor without an over abundance of heat. We just had them yesterday and my son woke this morning and asked when I could make them again. My compliments to the recipe submitter.

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
My family and I live in Maine where there is an abundance of wild blueberries and we have never had blueberry pie. I decided to solve that problem last summer. I took the advice of some of the reviewers and added extra cornstarch (5Tbs.) and it was perfect. The blueberries were fresh and sweet and added to the "perfectness" of the pie. I will now make this MULTIPLE times during the summer months.

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
This is the first pie crust that I ever made. It was wonderful and quite easy. I was always afraid to make crust but this was great. I will use this from now on. No more freezer crusts for this girl! Thank you

Apple Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
I make an apple cake that is very similar. The only real difference is this recipe calls for butter instead of oil. The butter makes it way more dense..like a brownie, not a cake (go figure). It was a very tasty recipe and I liked it a lot.

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
Thank you. My husband loves pecan pie and I have never been able to conquer it. Until now of course. This was so easy to make, and I loved the fact that it had no corn syrup in it. I served it on Thanksgiving and it got rave reviews from all.

BAKER'S Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
I had a ton of oat meal left from making granola so I decided to look for an oatmeal cookie that was different from the usual raisin variety. This fit the bill.

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
Fun and tasty cookie to make. I love serving these and watching people's faces when they see the middle. Impressive for a bake sale...as long as it is labeled as having nuts. Thanks for a fun cookie.

Left-Over Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
Yum, Yum, Yum. I now look forward to having left over turkey or chicken. I always use whatever fresh veggies I have in the house. It usually ends up being, carrots, potatoes and sweet potatoes may sound crazy, but it's soooo good). I par boil them and then add them as you would the frozen. Great recipe. Thanks

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
Great flavor. I make a gravy with the reserved marinade and it is to die for. Heat the sauce over medium heat for atleast 20 minutes to cook off anything that may have been left behind from the raw pork. Mix about 1/2 cup of water with a tablespoon or 2 of cornstarch and add to the sauce. Stir until thickened. OUTSTANDING and VERY sweet. Great for dinner guests.

Seafood Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
Being from maine and living right on the coast we have seafood chowder a lot. This is very good. It definitely has a taste that is different from what I am used to but it's a good taste. I am pretty sure it was the cream cheese and the sweetness from the carrots. My husband really enjoyed it. Thanks

Sweet Corn Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
Great texture. I prefer the "creaminess", if you will, of this recipe compared to the "crumbly" texture of boxed corn bread. My family really enjoyed this recipe. Thank you.
