Key Lime and Pretzel Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
Very good pie. Pretzel crust gives it that nice salty- sweet flare. I added 4 oz of cream cheese as suggested by another cook. I will try making it without the cream cheese to see if there's a difference.

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
I made this for my family and friends, because I don't like Banana. So my ratings are based om others comments. Everyone really enjoyed this. I didn"t bring home any leftovers. Didn't change the recipe at all.

Lemon Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
very tart!!! I had to doubled the amount of sugar. I didn't use butter and I tried the 1/3 less fat cream cheese. I think because I changed the recipe a bit, my end product was more like a custard dip, but everyone liked it.

Tuna Fish Cakes

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2010
The adults Loved these, the kids not so much. They warmed up well in a microwave the next day. The only thing that I will do different next time is folow the recipe exactly as written instead of improvising with what I had on hand.

Honey Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2010
the taste was good, but mine baked into big, flat cookies. It was probably my fault that they didn't look anything like the picture. My husband liked the taste of the raw batter better than the baked cookie, and he also liked them better without the lemon icing. Refrigerating the dough for 5-10 minutes before scooping onto baking sheet makes th process easier.

Blackberry Puff Pastry Tarts

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2010
this was great even though my puff pastry dough didn't cook right. Even my husband thought this was awesome.....did't use cinnamon or turbinado sugar.

Creamy Pimento Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
Huge hit with everyone. Including my 6 ear old. Made a lot of spread. It lasted us for 2-3 days, and we even gave some to my parents.

Popularity Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
Flavor was awesome. I think I did something wrong when boiling the sugar/butter mixture. It didn"t harden up in some places. So if you got the bite that wasn't hardened your teeth would stick together.

Chicken Salad

absolutely fabulous!!! I added more onions than called for and used cilantro. instead of parsley, because I was out of Parsley.

Cottage Cheese Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
Absolutely fabulous..The only changes that I made was that I used 1/2 yellow onion (only because I didn't have green onions), and I mixed an entire can of blcak olives into the salad. Deliciously simple. My brother said it was "clean" Potato salad.

Beet Bundt Cake

Reviewed: May 29, 2010
Pretty darn good. I used canned beets and probably should have used 2 cans. I topped it with Chocolate frosting just 'cause I like cake really sweet. My child loved it as well. FYI...I used 1/2 cup of all purpose flour & 1/2 cup whole wheat flour.

Helga's Russian Borscht

Zucchini Parmigiana

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
very good. I both baked and pan cooked my zucchini to see which was easier (based on others comments). It was easier to cook in a skillet with some olive oil. I mixed my ricotta cheese with low fat sour cream. I also added some salt. I will make this again.

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
Very good and so moist. The only change I made was using self rising flour, and omitting the salt, baking powder and baking soda.

Spinach Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Really easy recipe and tasted pretty good, but something was missing. I couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe it needed a little more salt, meat or something that had some texture.

Chocolate Baklava

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2009
OH MY GOODNESS!!! This is the best dish. I made two batches for 2 different ocassions, and those who didn't like Baklava loved this recipe. I used more syrup on the 2nd batch, which I loved because I like all the gooey honey based topping.

Black Bean Hummus with Tahini

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2009
this was a big at my gathering. Has more of a "mexican flavor" rather than Greek because of the cumin.

Whole Wheat Biscuits

Awesome taste. I omitted the sugar, and used a baking mix instead of all purpose flour. I also used regular milk, because I didn't have buttermilk. I made extra biscuits and froze them for later.

Muenster-Bacon Stuffed Chicken Breast

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2009
This tasted awesome! I am a novice cook and while making it, I thought "I will never make this again", because of the time it took to prepare. I did make some healthy changes to the recipe. I did not use the bacon grease I used vegetable oil (didn't have olive oil or I would have used that.) I also didn't use an egg, and I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I also omitted the provolone cheese like other reviewers suggested.
