About this Cook
I am currently The Head Chef / Food Service Director for a camp in Western PA. I love to bake and cook. Though Baking is my first love. I have 2 small children 4 and 6. They are what push me to serve a high quality meal that is fresh verses buying all of the processed foods.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook has to include the opportunity to always use fresh ingredients. I pride my self on serving minimally processed foods. I enjoy working with all fresh ingredients and teaching my children and staff the importance of food in our lives. As a society we need to cut back on processed everything and try making it for ourselves. It is quite a challenge now for folks to stay home and cook a home-made meal.
My favorite family cooking traditions
As far as cooking traditions, I think some families have more than others, I can really only think of a Cardamon Bread that my family and I absolutely lover.
My cooking triumphs
Triumphs are not a significance in my life. I enjoy cooking food for people to enjoy. My reward is met daily when they love the food that has been prepared.
My cooking tragedies
I think I have had a few of these... mistaking salt for sugar, or adding too much lemon juice to a recipe that I have increased the quanitities significantly, or leaving the burner on high and walking away. It is the tragedies that teach us to be better cooks. I benefit greatly from each mistake that I make!
