What’s your favorite kitchen tool?

Could it your rolling pin, measuring spoons or lemon zester?  Maybe you love your microwave best. Think of it this way. Your favorite tool could be your favorite because it was given to you by someone special. Maybe your favorite tool is your pick because you use it 100x ‘s a day and can’t imagine life without it.  I like red tools. What’s your favorite tool?

As many of you know I Team Up to do much of my day-to-day cooking. My freezer is filled with home-made meals I made with my friends. See my enthusiasm at www.dinnercoach.com

As I cook with my friends, a few tools become most important. Below are a few pictures of my most used Team Up tools.  If I did have to picy absolute favorite tool then I picy RED kitchen-aid mixer. It can sure get the job done!

Cutco is the bomb. I forgot about that everyday too. It’s definitely a favorite. I won two knives at a card party. I love winning prizes!

My mini microplane. On one side it holds a nutmeg and the other side grates and holds the nutmeg to be shaken over food. And my regular microplane I use it to grate garlic instead of having to finly mince it ;)

I would have to say my KA (The Diabla!) Because it's virtually hands free.It Comes with a multitude of attachments and colors. The kitchen Aide is an attractive appliance. When you see it, one knows exactly what do do with it and just the sight of one starts the mouth salivating with the possibilities of ALL those baked goods you are creating in your head! It Perfect!! And that's why it's my favorite tool in the kitchen!! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share our favorite tools. Have a terrific day! Patty

Jun. 30, 2009 8:27 am
Depends on the time of day......early morning, it's the coffee pot, any other time, probably my bamboo cutting board and santoku knife.
Jun. 30, 2009 8:30 am
I haveften thought about this. It would probably be my huge stock pot. I use to make stock, soups, pasta, everything. I am not sure I could live without that thing!
Jun. 30, 2009 8:31 am
There are so many, but probably the thing I use the most is my little two-hinged wine opener from Trader Joe's! But I'm looking for a KA and also some good knives!
Jun. 30, 2009 8:33 am

Jun. 30, 2009 10:53 am
My favorite thing that I could NOT live without would be my wooden spoon.
Jun. 30, 2009 10:54 am
So many to choose from! My Santoku knife is a favorite combined with my stainless steel bar of soap to keep from having stinky hands from all the chopping. My kitchen aid mixer and attachments are favorites in the appliance category.
Jun. 30, 2009 10:55 am
I have 3 tools that I love in my kitchen (I can't pick just one!): my microplane zester (I got it free with a subscription to Cooks Illustrated!), my santoku knife and my KitchenAid Mixer. I would be lost without them!
Jun. 30, 2009 11:15 am

Jun. 30, 2009 11:18 am

I also love my Cutco knives and my newest gadget, my meat pounder. I love it so much that I took a picture of it and it's in my profile.

Jun. 30, 2009 11:33 am
Does my timer count as a kitchen tool? Without it, many a meal would fail to make it to the table in an edible state!
Jun. 30, 2009 12:22 pm
I've loved my "Preto Salad Shooter" until I broke it. I used used it for years shredding carrots, cheese or slicing cucumbers etc. Similar to a mandolin but your fingers stay out of the way!.. I wonder if they still sell them!
Jun. 30, 2009 12:55 pm
Traci B I heard that they do sell them again (the new and improved version) I don't know where you could get a salad shooter though. My Favorite is my stainless steel mixing bowls and my mix and scoop spatula, Oh I also have a very nice set of pots and pans I'd be sad to live without now that I know what living with them is like.
Jun. 30, 2009 3:16 pm
My favorites are my plastic cutting board (for non-raw meat items) and my knife. I always reach for those when I prep for cooking! Great when cutting vegetables and other items for sandwiches or salads.
Jun. 30, 2009 3:48 pm
Definite must-haves in my kitchen are Sunbeam Heritage Mixmaster, and blender. Thank you for asking!!
Jun. 30, 2009 9:35 pm
OK, I have to add my Rachel Ray Santoku knife, it is on of the best knives I own.The knife is wonderful, it has an orange rubberized handle! I also have a set of Cutco and can't live without them either! Sorry to post twice! I couldn't resist!
Jun. 30, 2009 9:36 pm
Love the "V" slicer.
Jun. 30, 2009 9:41 pm
Avon lady...post all you want! I need to get one of those Santoku knives.
Jun. 30, 2009 10:00 pm
Okay I have to admit I agree with Traci B about the salad shooter. I still have one and it is awesome to shred cheese and slice things!!!!
Jul. 1, 2009 12:38 am
My favorite tools were indeed given to me by someone special!~~~They are my hands! Next to that would be the king of knives--my Santoku.
Jul. 1, 2009 9:53 am
I love my imersion blender. I use it for everything from smoothies to scrambled eggs to marinades for meats to salad dressings to smooth sauces and soups.
Jul. 1, 2009 10:05 am
My Garlic Chop (http://www.thegarlicchop.com/) this little gadget is AMAZING!!!! I couldn't live without it! Next...would be my KA Mixer...."The Lady in Black"! ;)
Jul. 1, 2009 10:13 am
I would have to say my countertop ice maker. Couldn't live without my ice cubes everyday!
Jul. 1, 2009 8:05 pm
I would have to say anything red too that I have..my fav color..egg slicer, KA mixer..I could go on and on..but my fav now is the Titan peeler that was in my Easter basket from my boyfriend, best peeler, juilliene (spelling), tool I ever had (:
Jul. 1, 2009 8:33 pm
I have a retro timer that is my favorite. I also love my Kitchen-Aid mixer, it is green apple colored. I love my apple corer around fall when I bake apple crisps. And my rolling pin is a favorite, however, I been to buy a new one tomorrow since I had to throw out my old one. I need to make some sugar cookies for a 4th of July party this weekend.
Jul. 1, 2009 8:36 pm
It's definitely between my microplane zester and my chef's knife (Santoku). I actually have 3 of the knifes which I use daily, but I love the zester for grating parm and garlic and zesting lemons, limes, oranges... you get the picture. I don't use it quite as often, but I'd be lost without it.
Jul. 1, 2009 10:28 pm
an old, ugly "perfectly seasoned" pizza pan that I use for everything... pizza, chicken nuggets, biscuits, cookies, garlic bread, etc... but in my "work" kitchen, my digital thermometer is my best friend!
Jul. 2, 2009 12:25 am
i guess the colander?
Jul. 2, 2009 3:42 am
My apple peeler. I also use it for peeling potatoes.
Jul. 2, 2009 5:01 am
My favourites are definitely my whisk and magic bullet appliance! I don't know if this one counts. But I have a frying pan which I have recently came to love just as much. Those are my most used and most useful in my kitchen!
Jul. 2, 2009 10:13 am
I have to concur w/ Deb (Gitano)...my garlic chop! Once I figured out how to use it..I LOVE it!..and of course, Scarlett, my KA!
Jul. 2, 2009 10:50 am
my kitchen aid stand mixer, i use it at least once a week.
Jul. 2, 2009 11:15 am
My "Spoonula" combo spatula/spoon. I have 3 of them and want more as they still always seem to be dirty when I need one. Haha.
Jul. 5, 2009 8:23 pm
Corny but my fridge. In the Philippines we didn't have one so when I moved to the States, I thought the fridge was the coolest thing in the world. A big box with a whole bunch of food? What's more handy than that? Oh wait a second. After moving to West Virginia, I also fell in love with my deep freezer. :)
