White Bean Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2013
It was SO good! I used a small can of salsa verde instead of the tomatillos and green chilis (which I thought was clever until I see so many did the same!) Added more chicken broth because I was using homemade and wanted to finish it off. Definitely not thick like chili, more like what I think of as chicken tortilla soup. Topped with a dollop of sour cream. DELISH!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
Delicious as is. We are not fans of onions, and usually the dry onion soup is too strong a flavor for me, but everyone raved about it, including I. I used a four and a half pound pork loin. It was so tender afterwards! We served it with roasted potatoes drenched in the au jus.

Turkey Tetrazzini II

Make this recipe your own. It's a great base recipe, which you can tailor to your own preferences. I don't like it when a reviewer gives it five-stars with X number of changes, but in this case, everyone can make it differently and it will still be good, because it's a solid base recipe. (For the record, I added peas and mushrooms and had company last minute and thus added a can of chicken, etc.)

T's Sweet Potato Fries

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
I doubled the recipe and cooked half in the microwave as instructed in step 2 and skipped that step with the other half. Seasoned them the same. Definitely preferred the non-microwaved fries better. Way too soggy for us otherwise. Baked on parchment paper for much easier clean up.

Spiced Pot Roast

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
I followed it exactly. It was very good but a bit on the sweet side for our tastes. Next time I'll not include the ginger, I think. I crockpotted it and made gravy out of the sauce. Served with roasted potatoes and carrots and freshly baked bread. Yum!

Olive Oil Dip for Italian Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
I really like garlic, used TWO cloves, and still thought it was very garlicky, nearly overpowering the other beautiful flavors. Otherwise, 5 stars!

Garlic Chicken

Delish as is. Made on a George Foreman, cooking for 8 minutes. Dinner was on the table ten minutes after walking in the front door. Awesome!

Smashed Cauliflower

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
It was great. For what it's worth, I typically eyeball recipes, which I did for this. I drained the broth after cooking and probably added 1/4 cup back in. I didn't use that much butter. I didn't have the white cheddar cheese but threw in a slice of pepper jack.

Cream Puffs

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
Perfect baking: Bake at 400 for 20 minutes. Without opening the oven door (a strict no-no for puffs), turn oven to 350, bake an additional 25 minutes. (No poking necessary.) I made once as directions suggest; they fell. I made once using the above baking technique (my mother's in law, the indisputed queen of puffs in our town); they were perfect. Second suggestion: leave out overnight, uncovered, before filling. It dries them more thoroughly.

Delicious. Used part apple/part orange juice (no apple concentrate) and dried rosemary. Husband raved that it was "perfectly" done.

The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie

A little heavy on the vanilla. I'd probably cut it to 1 tablespoon. I used 1 t baking powder and 1/2 t baking soda to end with a great consistency/texture. Very good!

You really have to LOVE the taste of onion soup mix to appreciate this, I think. It was a little strong for us.

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Delicious! Great use for leftover "Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches" meat. We also didn't use a full bottle of dressing, and I did half with bleu cheese and half with ranch (family taste preferences). So good!
