Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2012
This cake is wonderful! I would probably not have tried the recipe had it not been for all the ratings. I wouldn't change one thing about the recipe. This cake is best if you wait for atleast 2 hours to eat after removing from the oven, the texture changes a bit. It is very light and airy when it comes out of the oven, once it settles a bit it takes on a perfect light/dense texture. It competes with bakery grade cakes! Yummy!

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2012
This frosting is very creamy, perfect sweetness and light. As the other reviewers suggested, I used 2% skim milk instead of the evaporated. Simple recipe and the results are wonderful. Previous reviewers who claimed thier frosting turned out lumpy probably did not sift their sugar and cocoa. I will use this recipe in the future!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
I've made this recipe 4 times now and it is soooo good... You can't go wrong with this lasagna. It is flavorful and better than any lasagna you can get at an Italian restaurant!! Takes a little bit of work but it is worth it!!!!

Pecan Sandies

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
I just finished making these cookies. Based on other reviews I modified the recipe slightly and the cookies were great!! I subsituted 1 cup margarine for 1 cup butter. I substituted 1 cup vegetable oil for 1 cup crisco. I also use 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar. The cookies are just like the Keebler Pecan Sandies and my kids absolutely went crazy for them! I will definitely be making these cookies again and again! Thank you for the awesome recipe. By the way, refrigeration was not required.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2010
I am a huge fan of cornbread and have searched high and low for the perfect recipe. THIS IS IT! I can't believe how great this cornbread tastes - just the right amount of sweetness and its moist and holds together perfectly! If you use salted butter - there is no need to add additional salt! You will love this recipe!

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2010
This is a wonderful recipe. I made this for the first time yesterday and I am making another batch as we speak! Peaches were on sale for .69/lb so I got plenty! The recipe is perfect as is. Note that if you use a 2 qt dish as noted in the recipe, you have just the right amount of topping. I have to say that the topping is fantastic! Yum!!! This is a keeper! Thanks for sharing!

Creamy Caramel Flan

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
I can't say enough about this recipe! It was very easy to make, I didn't have any trouble caramelizing the sugar and the flan didn't stick to the pan. It was a huge hit, so rich and creamy. I would name it cheesecake flan because it tastes like flan with the creamyness of cheesecake. Only tip would be to make sure to pour the filling through a sieve to catch the small pieces of cream cheese. Also, it's a must to warm your dish/pan before pouring in the sugar. You'll love this recipe as is!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: May 16, 2010
I just finished baking these cookies... fantastic. Can't say that I would change one thing about the recipe. I chose to make my cookies a little smaller and it made about 3 dozen (drop by the tablespoon) cookies. Nice and crunchy on the outside, nice - moist and chewy on the inside! This is a great recipe!!

Funnel Cakes IV

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2010
This recipe was super easy!!! I didn't have a funnel so I used an icing bag... added a teaspoon of vanilla and used 1/2 cup sugar and a bit of cinnamon. Topped it with powdered sugar and Smuckers strawberry jam - HEAVENLY!! Thanks for the great recipe!

Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
I made these waffles this morning for my husband and kids and they loved them!! I followed the recipe for the most part. I added 2 more TBSP of sugar. I separated the egg whites and beat them until they formed stiff peaks. I folded them into the batter last. The waffles did not come out heavy at all! They were a hit!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
This recipe is very easy and the crust comes out very flaky! It is very important that the dough is chilled properly, I have found that if left out too long, the dough becomes difficult to work with and sticks very easily. If this happens, stick it back in the fridge for 15 minutes and it should be okay!

Easy Yet Romantic Filet Mignon

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
I tried this recipe tonight, Filet Mignon was on sale, so I couldn't pass up the deal - have never made it though! I followed the recipe with the exception of the shallots (kids and hubby not big fans) - came out perfect! My hubby and kids (7,6 and 2 years old) loved it! They said that mommy cooks better than any restaurant!! Very easy and quick. Only thing is that it is a bit messy in the oven, the meat and bacon popped grease everywhere. Thank goodness for self-cleaning ovens!!

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
I have made this recipe several times..it's great as is. I follow the recipe almost to the tee.. with the exception of: I add evaporated milk the last 2 minutes. When its all done, I mix in 1 tsp of cinnamon and 1 tbsp of butter... I finish it off with sprinkled cinnamon on the top!! Magnifique! (Not sure if that's how you spell it) :) Great recipe!
