Caramel Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
These were perfect! It made exactly 6 apples with very little caramel left over. Like a few of the other reviewers, I put my apples in the freezer before dipping so the caramel would set up. My son and I buttered small squares of waxed paper for easy removal. There was very little mess. If you want to put candy sprinkles or any other extras on them, do it immediately as the cold apples help the caramel set up very quickly. This is so easy, my kids could easily do this from start to finish with no help from me.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
I made these exactly as the recipe called for, doubling the recipe. They didn't spread too much, and turned out soft and chewy. I'm saving this recipe in my box, for sure :)

Tie-Dye Fruity Cupcakes

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
These were, of course a little more time consuming, but well worth it. My kids gave these two thumbs up! You could easily use green and red jello for Christmas cupcakes.....and on and on. The texture was a bit different due to the jello, but overall, the taste was wonderful. I'll definitely make these again!

Beef Parmesan with Garlic Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2012
This is a great way to make cubed steak. My kids LOVE angel hair pasta so I figured it would easily be a hit. I made no changes to the recipe. It was easy to make and tasty. Prep time is right on. I dumped ingredients in the breadmaker right after I got this prepared and in the fridge. I put the pasta on a large plate then placed the steak on top, spooning the remaining sauce over the exposed pasta. It looked beautiful with so little effort! This makes more than four servings, but leftovers are a cheap lunch for me. I'll definitely make this again!

Mixed Fruit Crisp

Reviewed: May 23, 2011
This was very easy to make and turned out wonderfully! I left the raisins and water out because I don't like raisins. The first time I made this, I used a combination of mixed berries and it was excellent. Tonight I made it as the recipe calls and the banana was a little more prevalent in the taste. It added a great new dimension to it. This is definitely a keeper. The crumble topping was easy to prepare. I did make this in a 9x9 pan instead of 7x11 because that's what I have. Baking time did not have to be adjusted. Try it. You won't be disappointed!

Easy Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
This was very tasty and juicy! Like many others, I didn't have an oven bag so I improvised with aluminum foil. It made a little mess in the pan, but it was well worth it. It was sweet, but not too sweet. I didn't have any ground ginger so I chopped some fresh ginger. The subtle ginger taste was wonderful with the apple! I've never had good luck with crock pots, so I took a chance on my kids following directions instead. I prepared everything and wrapped the roast in foil in the morning, leaving instructions to put the roast in the oven while I was still at work. It was easy and quick to throw together before work and easy for my kids help finish up. This is saved to my recipe box and I'll make it again.

Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
My two sons and budding chefs made this and we all gave it two thumbs up! I agree there isn't enough pudding/sugar mixture for all three cans of biscuits. We had to improvise and use some more cinnamon and sugar mixed quickly. It was time consuming for the boys, but well within their capabilities. Next time, we'll try it with just to cans and see how that works for us. It smells wonderful and tastes great. We will definitely make this again.

I have made this multiple times and it has always turned out wonderfully. Dumplings have always been a challenge to me, but no longer! It's simple, easy to throw together and my picky kids love it.
