Grilled Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2013
I made these for dinner tonight. I followed this recipe as written except for using more of both peppers. I also used a 4 pound bag of wings that I had extra from an experiment that didn't turn out a couple of months ago where we tried different ways of baking them. I love wings but not all the fat that comes with frying them so baking was tried and not successful at all. I was very excited to find this recipe in my inbox the other day and knew I had to try them with the ones I had since I knew I had all the ingredients except to pick up a can of pop. I started them with the wings frozen and let them soak while the grill was heating up. My grill isn't big enough for all of the wings and the bowl, so I rotated half the wings at a time on the grill with the other half simmering. The sauce thickened up and reduced down nicely and the wings browned up very nicely (actually some looked like they were burnt but they weren't). I was a bit skeptical because of the failed baking experience, but I really enjoyed these and will DEFINITELY make them again. I actually enjoyed these more than I should have since I ate a bit too many and am now stuffed!! :) I have some really spicy sauce from the local wing place, and I think this is a good recipe to use it up in since just a little bit will add enough spice without it being too much since I thought the original recipe could use a bit more spice. All in all a DEFINITE keeper!!!!

Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2013
Made this for dinner tonight. I easily pared it down for just 1 serving. My daughter doesn't do ANY kind of fish, and my son was at work. I think next time I will use less butter as it made a lot of sauce, but I still want the tanginess of the mustard and the sweetness of the honey to come out. Also I crushed a couple of almonds since I didn't have pecans. Using the Panko breadcrumbs gave it a nice crunch finish. I will definitely make this again. I like the suggestions of adding some cayenne pepper too, so I may try that next time as well.

Broccoli Cheese Soup V

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2013
I was very pleasantly surprised by this one. I used fresh veggies leftover from a veggie tray for a baby shower (broccoli and cauliflower about 5 or 6 cups), onion powder instead of onions since I didn't have any, and a pound of Velveeta with half pound to a pound of shredded cheddar cheese. I also sauted 3 cloves of garlic with the butter and added some garlic powder (tip from another recipe). It turned out pretty good. I also made this in the crock pot instead of on the stove. I love broccoli and cheese soup but had never made it myself. This recipe now allows me to make it myself and enjoy it whenever I want.

Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Perfection

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2012
OMG!!! Mad this for dinner tonight, and I absolutely loved it. Was going to just make a half recipe because my daughter said flat out she wasn't going to eat it, so it would have been just for my son and I, but I had enough feta to make a whole batch, so I figured why not. I'm so glad I did! I do agree with another poster that it was kind of salty, but I think that may have been my italian dressing I used as a marinade as it is VERY high in sodium. I also thought there was WAY too much of the bread crumb mixture. Next time I make it, I will probably just use a balsamic vinaigrette of some kind and only have batch of the bread crumbs. Overall though, great recipe and totally worth the work.

Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2011
I've been using this recipe since my middle child was a baby, and he turns 20 next year! It's the ONLY chocolate chip recipe I've used as it just turns out the best! We use all kinds of different chips though, and it worked great with some mint chocolate chips and some dark chocolate chips I found last year! Using the Crisco gives the cookie a much better flavor and holds it together much better than regular butter does, but since it is butter flavored, you still have that buttery flavor that makes cookies so good! Oh, and we don't use nuts in ours as none of us like them with nuts, but I did make them years ago with slivers of almonds for a friend and she LOVED them.

Magic Cookie Bars from EAGLE BRAND®

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
I remember making these with my mother when I was a child (30 years ago). I love that I get to share them with my children too. We use a combination of chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and peanut butter chips. Sometimes we use whit chocolate chips too if there are any in the cabinet. Mixing these together with the coconut and the nuts works really well so the flavors are spread throughout. I agree with others, pressing the crust in makes them hold together much better. These cookies are always on my Christmas baking lineup.

JIF® Irresistible Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
I love this recipe and all the other Butter Flavored Crisco ones. I've been using them for years. This makes a great peanut blossom too. I just take part of the batches I make and put kisses on the top. I always have to make a batch just for my oldest son at Christmas, but now he will have to fight with his girlfriend for them, maybe I'll have to make them 2 batches!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
I made this the other night for dinner. I came on here looking for something to make with chicken and what I had on hand and found this. YUM, YUM, YUM. I just made a half batch as it was just for 2 of us and will definitely make again. I used chicken broth instead of water, and it was a little salty, so when I head to the store next week, I'll make sure to get low salt or salt free of broth and the soup. I think next time, I will make the full batch though (there just weren't enough leftovers)!!
