About this Cook
My name is Heather, and I'm 20 years old. I never liked cooking, I used to be afraid of the oven and the stove, I always burned myself somehow. Lol. But recently, I've gotten a fascination with cooking and mostly baking. I used to bake cookies with my Dad all the time, and I did once recently for a barbeque. All by myself, and I did it from scratch. I didn't have time to taste them, and I had to rush over to where I was going, but when everyone kept telling me how delicious they were, I had to try. And they were great! So since then I've been trying to cook anything I can. Lol.
My favorite things to cook
My expertise is in cookies, cake, and pancakes so far. But I'm getting broader and better with time.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I used to bake cookies with my Dad all the time, since there wasn't much that we could really do. My Dad's cookies were always the best, but he's too busy to make them now, so now mine are the best!
My cooking triumphs
I made cookies for my boyfriend and his work friends with protein powder to give them a boost of energy throughout the day. They're contractors so they need their strength throughout the day. His boss is a dentist, and he's moving his office. So my boyfriend, Pat, asked him if he needed a new secretary, and when he mentioned me, his boss said, "Are you kidding? With her cookies, and her cake... She's a keeper, she's hired!"
My cooking tragedies
I tasted a very good snack at a church group that I wanted to try. They're called congo bars. I followed a recipe on here, and brought them to my church, but the recipe was horrible, so they weren't that good. The less picky people still liked them, but those who know me better said I could do better. But, next time I make them I know how to make them better.

Peanut Butter Chicken Skewers
This was delish! I added a dash of cumin cuz i love it, and it came out with a nice kick. but instead of skewers on the grill, since i dont have one, i browned the chicken and then let it simmer in the sauce till the chicken was cooked through. soooooo good! husband has asked to keep it as a staple

Crab Delights
Mega tasty! Doesnt taste fishy at all. I used shredded cheese instead of processed and used wayy too much by accident but now i know for next time. Also, put it on whole wheat bread cuz i dont buy english muffins

Moroccan-Style Stewed Chicken
Loved it! My picky husband loved it and told me to keep it in my recipe box. I used my own stock, which made it healthier, and didn't add the raisins because I forgot to but I didnt miss them. I was 9 months pregnant when I made this and it was quick and easy. Also, added a sweet potatoe like other reviewers suggested, and it was an awesome choice!
