About this Cook
i started cooking when i was 10 yrs. old and have never stopped.i've been cooking for a living now for over 25yrs. and still enjoy it.i have two children(well three if you count my husband)my daughter is out of the house with a baby of her own.my first grand child!she's not much of a cook and has never been really interested in learning.maybe now that she has a family she'll ask for help!my son is 16 and has the love of food like me.he enjoys cooking and creating.he's pretty good too.we always cook from scratch with a take out here and there.we garden and love to go to farmers markets to buy what we don't grow ourselves.we are definately into food!
My favorite things to cook
i love to cook almost anything except for desserts.i don't like to measure so it's not my thing.i will bake for holidays and special times but that's it.i love fresh ingredients and like to create my own recipes and put twists on old favorites.
My favorite family cooking traditions
sunday dinner with family!whether it be a nice roast or pasta dish or a bbq,it's what we do as a family every sunday
My cooking triumphs
beef wellington when i was in my early 20's.it was a challenge and it was amazing!
My cooking tragedies
leaving the bag of turkey giblets and neck in the bird on the first thanksgiving i hosted for my inlaws!how embarrassing!

Ground Beef Quiche
this was pretty good!i did change things a bit by making it like a steak and cheese grinder.i added sweet red peppers and mushrooms and extra cheese.it was delish and i've made it several times.you can even use canned cresent rolls for the crust, just press seams together and shape into pie plate.

Orzo and Shrimp Salad with Asparagus
this salad was delicious and light.i did'nt make any changes except for adding more shrimp and asparagus.i made it for a bbq and it was so pretty that people ate it right up.i gave the recipe to several guests that day!not the same old salad that always appears at cookouts!a must try!
