About this Cook
I just started cooking and baking about 3 years ago, i'm still learning! Some things that are basics to others are still mysteries to me. The favorate thing in my kitchen has to be my kitchen aid stand mixer pro 600 the bowl lift one, its blue. It was a gift from my husband and I ADORE that mixer! Otherwise i'm married with 1 son who is 2 and a half and always under my feet! He'll be a baker and cooker yet just because he is ALWAYS standing on the drawer so that he can see the counter and watch what I am doing.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, but I dont have anything favorite. I cook and bake any recipe that grabs my attention for which I have the ingriedents on hand. I have an entire cuppard of supplies for baking. I've trained my husband well in that if I ask him to get something from the store for me he doesnt question why or what for, he just hops too and waits for the results.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family didnt cook, I've learned what little I know from scratch, good recipes, and the internet! Thank gosh for the net, I wouldnt be able to do ANYTHING without it. I look up everything! I love this sight because of the reviews, the other members give such great tips and helpful advice as well as opinions on the recipes which helps decide which recipe to use.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking at all! Cooking and baking are something I have learned to do only since marrying my husband who was very unhealthyly thin when we met. It became my mission to fatten him up! Well he blames his weight on me now! Luckily only in a joking manner.
My cooking tragedies
balsamic vinegar, definaely not something I can figure out how to use. Oh and breads, i'm a good baker but breads just seem to escape at least yeast breads do. I follow all the instructions read everything I can and still the breads I try seem to come out dry. I keep on trying though, I can usually come across with ok cinnamon rolls! Well break through with breads! Bread flour is THE KEY! Everything comes out great! I baked 6 batchs of rolls over this thanksgiving and EVERYONE of them came out PERRRFECT ! !

Old Fashioned Onion Rings
Fabulous!!!! The batter stuck perfectly and I didnt even have any left floating in my pan!! Update: used this on shrimp today, fabulous! ! Just add a sprinkle of old bay seasoning and make the batter a little thinner. To coat with bread crumbs I ended up just sprinkling them on. It was VERY messy and I'm sure with some thought I can make it less so but my attitude is; good food is worth the mess!

Marshmallow Popcorn Balls
Excelent, a little green food color in the marshmallow satisfied my four year olds request for green popcorn! Very easy to make, taste great!

Roast Leg of Lamb with Rosemary
I made this recipe for the first time last year for easter dinner. It was also the first time I'd made or eaten lamb. This recipe is fabulous! I LOVE it i've made lamb several times since then and wont make it any other way.
